Fantastic cozy hotel near Bastille and Le Marais

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: The staff is great, friendly and multilingual. I felt welcomed all the time. Their WiFi is pretty good and free which always comes handy.
Cons: I honestly don't thing there's anything to be improved. Just be aware that this is a boutique hotel, so expect small spaces :)
Location: Half block away from Bastille Metro. Less than 5 minutes walk to Le Marais neighborhood.
This is a true 4 (four) start hotel in the historic district of Paris; Le Marais/Bastille. It is walking -- less than a block -- distance to the Bastille Metro and about 5 minutes away from Le Marais which provides an ultimate location for Paris' night and dining scenes. The staff is friendly and their English is great! I personally speak English and Spanish, and I was surprised on finding hotel staff that would speak both languages. The hotel itself is an old building. However, it has been taken care of thru the years resulting on a fantastic experience. Each room has a different concept so be prepare to not find your typical -- american style -- hotel room. My room was called 'the silver' (or something like that) which was composed of a fun concept between silver walls and pretty stylish lighting (I loved it, different but cozy). I would actually recommend this hotel to couples willing to spend some quality time in Paris.

What a hotel

Posted Jul 15, 2014
So spent a lot of time searching for the "right" hotel to take my girlfriend to for her birthday. I came across this place and straight away thought looked great. Was I in for a surprise. We stayed in the gold room on the ground floor. No rooms next door so was silent and backed on the court yard area behind the building. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The decor was just like you see in the pictures. If you want funky place to stay. This is it. Literally 2 minute walk to Bastille metro station which was massive bonus and still well within the heart of paris to get a great feel for the city just in local area to the hotel. The staff were great and more then helpful with everything we asked. Would definately stay here again!!!

Issues, but resolved immediately

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Style, staff, location.
Cons: Room 1, with the bed located at basement level, doesn't offer the best sleep compared to every other room I have stayed in at this excellent hotel
Location: Very centrally located with easy access to everything in and around Paris
I have stayed in this hotel several times, by choice, as it is very well located and clean, smart and stylish. I was initially put into the joker room, which I have stayed in previously without issue, but the TV would not receive any channels - while this would not normally be a problem, given it was the world cup semi-final that evening, I needed it sorting out before kick off if at all possible. The reception staff were excellent, and checked out the problem while I took a stroll - when I returned, as it was not a "quick fix", I was offered an alternative room, which happened to be room 1, a suite set on two levels. Excellent service. The only minor issue with room 1 is that because the bedroom is located in the basment, you can hear the metro trains if you are a very light sleeper like me. Be warned.

Modern hotel, close to Bastille

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Excellent and friendly staff and service. Very modern style with quality furnishings. Very individual rooms - my bedroom was quite black and a little dark and would not be to everyone' taste. Conveniently placed for Marais district.

Great family hotel

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: It was unique and very clean. The staff was very helpful.
Location: Metro was steps away.We ate at many places near by and enjoyed the outdoor market too.
We stayed in a quad room. This worked out perfect(our kids are ages 6 and 9). The staff was always very helpful. The breakfast was an easy way to start the day. We were only steps from the Metro and used it each day. I would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in a great location!

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Location, decor, staff
Cons: As stated, the rooms are a bit small. Shower/bathtub combo was something I had to get used to.
Location: Right by Bastille metro with lots of connections, easy walk to Notre Dam
We've never stayed at such a unique hotel! Decor was great, our bedroom was cool and comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly.

Great hotel very close to the Metro!

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Good location, staff very helpful, NICE room.
Location: A few yards away is a metro station, a pastry shop and a couple of cafes.
My room was unusual by U.S. standards - bath/shower in bedroom and shimmery copper colored walls (I loved it), I was staying in one of the " Seven Deadly Sins" rooms. I could see the Paris skyline and the Eiffel Tower from my windows!! The staff were so helpful and patient with my very poor French. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Staying there made my visit to Paris even more special.

a jewel box hotel--in several senses

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: We liked its decor, and efficient use of space
Location: The hotel is just off Place Bastille, with lots of places to eat, and just blocks from Marais shopping and activities.
Stayed just one night. Unique and aesthetically pleasing facility, with themed rooms. Great for one person, but very cramped for more. Very small, very efficient rooms, comfortable beds.
