Comfortable stay, great staff, good location

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The location (near the Metro and not far from central Paris and sights), and the service was excellent.
Cons: the price of breakfast we felt was too high so ate elsewhere on our budget. Only disappointment with the room was the bathroom hadn't been cleaned.
Location: Near Metro 4 line, so close to Paris centre in <15mins. Also near the Eiffel Tower. The Catacombs at Denfert-Rochereau are also walking distance.
A great 3 night stay at this hotel. The room was nicely presented with flowers and a card welcoming. The staff were very polite, helpful and knowledgable on reception (all 4 we encountered were excellent).

Excellent boutique hotel without being pretentious

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, lovely breakfast, great common area
Cons: Afternoon wine/tea in the common area would be a wonderful addition
Location: Jardin Luxembourg--10 minutes Shopping/bakeries--5 minutes Many great restaurants
We had a wonderful 4 night stay. Check in was seamless, the location ideal (several great restaurants a short walk away) and even though the rooms are small, they are very comfortable...we slept unbelievably well! The lobby/breakfast area is very pleasant (especially when there is a fire in the fireplace)...the staff members were all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Paris.

Hotel in Paris

Posted Oct 3, 2014
Location: Close to Luxenberg Gardens, cafes, trains and some shops.
Hotel was very "Parisian", which we were interested in staying to be able to have the "flavor" of Paris. However, we are use to "American" standards and found the room to be very small. It was a good experience though and the people were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel in a great area

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, style of hotel
Cons: Queen bed rather than two singles pushed together and larger room.
Location: Lovely location, lots of nearby restaurants and cafes etc. Cafe Vavin was nice for lunch and bread and roses was nice for breakfast.
This hotel is really nice and had a lovely entrance and lobby. It is in a great location to lots of lovely restaurants and bars, and close to two metro stops. It is very close to the Luxemborg Gardens which are wonderful on a nice day. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful with recommendations. The hotel is very stylish and the rooms are modern with a nice TV, bathrobes etc. The only negative is that we obviously had two single beds that were pushed together, so sometimes in the night they moved apart creating a hole you could fall through! Fine for 3 nights but any longer and could be annoying. We did request a queen bed so not sure why we got this. Our room was nice, the bathroom was lovely. The room was small but expected in Paris, if you want to spend a lot of time in your room and not in Paris then perhaps ask for one of the bigger rooms. It was very quiet and peaceful. Our room didnt have a view it was just a wall and it meant we didnt have any natural daylight in the room, this was a positive as we didnt get woken up by sunlight but also it would be nice to have a bit of light in the afternoon if you wanted to spend some time in the hotel. For us it was just a good excuse to sit outside in the lovely cafes and bars locally. Perfect hotel for a 3 day trip, if I was staying for longer then perhaps I would need a bigger room.

Fantastic

This was my first visit to Paris, so this was a shot in the dark. The hotel is conveniently located south of the river, near 2 metro stations. You can easily walk to the Louvre or Notre Dame. It is a small boutique, that has only 3-4 rooms on each floor, so it is very quiet. The room was air conditioned and very clean. The bathroom was fantastic-it even had towel warmers. I didn't have the breakfast or use room service, so I can't comment on that. The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke English well. If I ever go back to Paris, I will be staying here again.

A Perfect Spot

Our stay at the Hotel Sainte-Beuve was excellent. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are clean, well maintained and quiet. The hotel is perfectly located: it's near everything one needs on a trip to Paris. There are two metro stops within a few blocks of the hotel making it easy and inexpensive to go anywhere in Paris and several of the best venues (Musee D'Orsay, L'Orangerie, Pompidou Center and others) are a direct ride so you don't even have to change trains. There are several great "neighborhood" restaurants (Invictus, Timbre, Tavolo Di Gio, La Rotonde) that provide excellent food, fabulous service and a true "neighborhood" dining experience at a reasonable price within blocks. There is good shopping, movies, and the Luxemborg Gardens are all within a few blocks. The hotel staff was terrific (Paulina and Sabrina at the desk and George at the bar were particularly helpful) and happily spoke to us in English when our poor French failed. This is a neighborhood famous for its art and literary history having been the home for Hemingway, Picasso, Modigliani and many others so there is history combined with convenience and comfort when you stay at the Sainte-Beuve. We recommend the hotel highly. Hope you find this helpful in making your choice of where to stay.
