Quiet and peaceful hotel, friendly staff

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The peace and quiet.
Cons: We thought the breakfast was a bit expensive.
Location: As above
We had a lovely stay here. hotel was clean and very quiet, the staff friendly and helpful. it is situated near the Republique area which is very lively and has lots of caf├ęs and bars. Also a couple of excellent boulangeries nearby. We mostly walked everywhere and the hotel is roughly a one hour twenty minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower but there is of course a great bus and metro service.

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Taylor. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel is on a side street so it's very quiet at night. Great location too. Will definitely stay there again.

nice small place

Posted Aug 24, 2014
stayed 3 nights there, tiny little place with welcoming staff. its close to all attractions, walking distance to republic square, even louve, 20 mins walking in the morning, see a little bit quiet Paris, awesome. it gets everything you need, elevator fits in two people, wifi access in room, clean toilet, quiet location. there's few homeless living down, they were talking some time during the night. its not too bad

Not Great.

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The staff were helpful and provided information when requested. Good English was spoken.
Cons: 1. The lift was poor. 2. My room was left open one day. 3. The safe deposit box was not fixed down.
Location: Not a great area but handy for the Metro and local rail stations.
This hotel is in a poor and run down area of Paris and I did not feel comfortable walking around at night. On the plus side, it is reasonably close to the Metro. My room was on the 6th floor and was very stuffy. Had to have window open all of the time and the fan running to keep cool. The bathroom needed to be updated and had installed the smallest bath I have ever seen. The shower over the bath was good. The lift was tiny, slow and looked to be very old. Of major concern was that I found my room open one day when I got back to the hotel. I am assuming that this was by the cleaning staff. There was nothing missing from the room so no harm done but it could have been so much worse. The staff on the reception desk were always helpful and spoke good English.

Friendly hotel close to metro links

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Located well on the metro system giving easy access to most links.
Cons: Bathroom could do with a bit of an update.
Staff very helpful, all spoke good English if required. Quiet location not far from the place de republic which had a fab patisserie for first stop of the day.

Comfortable hotel near to station.

Great staff and pleasant room. There is a archway relatively close to hotel where homeless men live. Hence, I didn't feel safe walking back to hotel at night as it felt a bit edgy!

Mixed stay in this quaint hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: I'd take the staff with me anywhere I stay- very friendly and approachable. A credit to Paris.
Cons: Just install air conditioning.
Location: Republique metro stop is pretty central to everything. 15 minutes from the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre etc.
Uncomfortable as there was no air conditioning- only a desk fan that blew warm air. However the room was clean and well maintained, even if it was only the size of a cupboard (the website pictures flatter the bedroom size).

Super staff

Lovely little hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. There was an issue on our first night we had to stay in a double room rather than the twin we thought we had requested. The staff advised us that we could move the next day and helped us to do that. Great location near to the Metro and Republique square with lots of good bars and restaurants. Rooms were small which is pretty much standard for Paris but overall a great stay.

Lovely little hotel!

My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in a superior double room at Hotel Taylor and we were very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, with a kettle, coffee machine, and a well fitted bathroom. The location is reasonably good, with the metro station "Republique" nearby that is situated on a number of lines that you can use to get around Paris. If you want to walk to any of the famous sites such as the Notre Dame, it's a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel. The area around the hotel itself was also nice, and the square at Republique was a spot to watch the world go by if you wanted a break from the frantic sightseeing around Paris! On the other hand, however, we weren't able to find many nice restaurants in the evening, so decided to take a metro ride to one of the more touristic spots in Paris with more restaurants. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value for money and is perfect as a base for seeing Paris.
