I recently stayed for two nights at Hotel Vaneau in Paris and unfortunately, I must say that I was not impressed. There were several issues that we experienced during our stay that made it less than enjoyable.
Firstly, during check-in, we were told off for arriving one hour early and sent away. When we returned at 1:55 pm, our room was not ready, and we had to wait while the cleaning lady was running all over the place doing everything rushed.
Next, the breakfast experience was disappointing. On the first morning at 9 am, half of the trays were empty, and the hotel manager arrived with a bag of croissants from a bakery, serving only half of the bag. The selection was small, and the general quality was low. It looked like pastries bought from a cheap supermarket. When I asked for green tea, I was denied at first, and only after asking again did it suddenly appear from a cabinet in a closed box. We paid £13 per person per day for breakfast that was not good. Any café in the neighborhood would’ve been cheaper and better quality.
The room also had some issues. There was a strong smell, but only in our room, not outside. Additionally, during the night, it was quite difficult to get to sleep because we could hear the banging from upstairs as well as the conversations in the room next door. Furthermore, the shower products were empty.
