Friendly, central hotelPosted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: The location, the staff and the balcony in the room.
Cons: The access to the internet if your room is on the top floor is not great and could be improved.
Location: The location is very good. It is an easy walk to the main shopping areas that feature the main department stores.
This hotel is ideally placed for being able to see most of the sights of Paris on foot. It is only a five minute walk to the interesting artist area alongside the many cafés and resturants. Although small it is friendly and comfortable. The front of house staff are willing to help in any way they can and speak good English. Perfect venue for a few days stay in Paris.

Nice hotel, great location.Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, cleanliness.
Location: Moulin Rouge is great, but not Cirque by any stretch. Go where the locals eat and try and speak French as much as possible.
Hotel was clean, nice but simple breakfast, great location for local restaurants, bars, metro and Moulin Rouge. A bit of a walk (15 minutes) to big red bus tour (well worth doing) and other tourist attractions but Metro is 2 minute walk away. Many local restaurants, as well as tourist ones, at very reasonable prices if you search. Quite a few bars are of an adult nature in this area, although there is no pestering or trying to get you inside etc. Hotel has no air conditioning and temperatures were 25-28 degrees, which meant opening window at evening and exposing street noise from outside. In general, I would happily recommend, as location and value more than exceed expectation and make up for small negatives.

Cost-effective hotel in ParisPosted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Easy and cheap to get to, and the bathroom in the room was new and smart. The room was OK for size - not huge but not tiny either. The price was good
Cons: The hotel was totally adequate for a business trip and priced well.
Location: This is on the edge of Montmartre and near the Moulin Rouge, so the "naughty" part of Paris, but that's just a fact of life. See the real Paris!
The hotel staff were friendly when I called in to say that I wouldn't be arriving till after midnight, when I checked in and they were helpful when I checked out. The room was good and the bathroom was very good, particularly considering the price. I've travelled Europe for over 30 years on business, and I'd definitely use this hotel again if it's still around the Expedia price of €109 per night. It's 200 yards from Pigalle metro station which is only a few stops from Etoile/Place Charles de Gaulle and the Arc de Triomphe, where the airport bus runs to/from. You can also get the airport bus to Opera and then take the metro from there to Pigalle. Much cheaper than using taxis, particularly if you are travelling solo. The hotel is also on the edge of Montmartre. It is also around the corner from the Moulin Rouge - give that a second's thought if you are prudish about that sort of thing.

Good value for a central Paris hotelPosted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We needed a good value hotel for a short stay in this area of Paris, and this hotel did the job. The room was small for a double, but it was clean and as it faced the rear, it was relatively quiet. The staff were all courteous. We decided to have breakfast at the hotel and although the dining room was a little cramped, and the food was limited (standard pastries etc), it again was good value.

Great location, staff, shower, small roomPosted Oct 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Good points: staff very helpful, room to leave luggage before and after checkin, ordered taxi, provided 1 hour free wifi, stay straightforward. The bad points: room size, smallest room i have ever stayed in, noisy, you can hear every sneeze, cough, step on the stairs, door opening, tv, etc etc. However saying that people were respectful so sleep from midnight to 7am was possible. Overall: Location is useful for monmarte and for a weekend where all you need is a bathroom and place to sleep end of the day, no problem

I was on a vacation with my family and we had an amazing time. Our room was spacious and clean! The locations is quite good as it is not far away from the major sightseeings :) I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends who would like to have a friendly and comfortable stay in Paris. Thank you to the great staff at the hotel.

Good location, dodgy neighborhood, thin walls!Posted Oct 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Quick and easy access to Metro. Not far from Gare du Nord and Sacre Cour. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby, but no food allowed in the hotel room. Hotel reception is not very welcoming / helpful. Bed covers were not the cleanest - easily visible smudges. Walls are quite thin - heard couple next door arguing all night on the phone - and I'm sure our 2 year old waking up in the middle of the night crying did not please them either. Would NOT recommend for family stay - there are people trying to pull you into strip clubs nearby.

Wouldn't recommendPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was included
Cons: They advertised free WIFI which entices people to stay, what they didn't say was that is was only for the first hour and we were staying for 3 nights
Location: Moulin Rouge
I'm sorry but I was really disappointed with this accommodation. My daughter and her friend who are both 23 were recommended to stay at this accommodation by a travel agent. We decided to join them there because we were going to be in Paris at the same time so thought it easier to stay in the same place and seeing as a travel agent recommended it, it should be fine. It happened to be in the red light district of Paris and there were parties and drunk people walking past all night. The girls were too scared to open their windows at night and seeing as we hit the 30 deg days it made it very uncomfortable. After talking to a lovely couple at breakfast I found out they had a steel rod thrown through their window one night, I'm just so glad it wasn't my daughters room as they had 4 weeks holiday ahead of them and it was a horrible way to start their dream holiday. Free WIFI was advertised but that was only for 1 hour of our 3 night stay so we paid for more so we could contact home and then kept getting cut off and fading out. We certainly would not stay in that area again and are really surprised that an Australian travel Agent could send two young girls travelling on their own for the first time to such an area.

Our favourite Paris hotelPosted Jun 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was our third stay at this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The bedroom was large (by European standards), clean and well appointed. The bathroom was large and very good. The shower was excellent ! The Victor Masse Hotel is well located near the Pigalle Metro station and the Monmarte district and is a 15 minute walk to the Opera and Galleries at Lafayette. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We always stay at this hotel when in Paris
Nightmare in ParisPosted Jun 22, 2013
Pros: Is very close to the metro station.
Cons: The A.C, bed, cleanliness, the mattress.
Location: Its surrounded by striptease places and sex shops. Don't go with your kids.
Prepare to stay in the worst hotel in your life. Especially, because it doesn't have air conditioner in the hot summer, the bed is uncomfortable, like sleeping in a rock, with the worst pillows ever. I would never recommend this hotel, even to my worst enemy. If you want a cheap a bad and a cheap hotel, this will be perfect to you.
