Nice hotel in a great locationPosted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Décor, excellent staff and location.
Cons: Wi fi service, breakfast options.
Location: 1 Block from the Opera Garnier and metro station and 15 minute walk to the Louvre if you walked down the Avenue de L'Opera.
Overall I would recommend this hotel. It was in a great location, nicely decorated and the staff was excellent, very helpful, and very accommodating. Every concierge on duty was helpful in recommending restaurants within walking distance when needed, and in making dinner reservations. We ordered room service one night at 11 pm and the food was wonderful. There were a few opportunities for improvement that I would share with those considering this hotel. First, we were travelling with a large group and we all ordered the same rooms but room size was very inconsistent. We reserved St Honore rooms, a queen bed for us and 2 twin beds for the kids. Our room was a full size bed and small. one of the kids rooms was the same, and the boys got a huge room with 2 full beds. After seeing the rooms of others travelling in our party, we asked the switch and were able to get what we ordered. However, at first they told us that we were in a queen room, which was not correct. So if the bed size seems small, ask to see other rooms. Second, the wi fi service was occasionally very slow or down. The only other thing is that the hotel restaurant only serves the 30 Euro breakfast, you can only get a la carte breakfast by ordering room service, so we went out for breakfast every day. Would be nice to get a coffee and croissant in the hotel without ordering room service. Other than these minor issue I would say this hotel was a great value.

Classy hotel in a great locationPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: The hotel looked classy, felt comfortable and was clearly designed for a high quality feel. Location was excellent.
Cons: Nothing, exactly what I wanted from a high quality paris hotel. Good size rooms, good staff, great location.
Location: Excellent location for all the top attractions as well as great bars, restaurants and nightlife. Easy walking distance to everything.
We were in room 603 having gone for the venedrome room. It was large, with a lovely sized quirky shaped bathroom. Very quick, clean and amazingly comfy. The hotel was located in the middle of everything and was easy walking distance to everything. We never needed to get a metro and felt happy walking around whatever the hour.

at the l'Opera areaPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: in the heart of tourist attractions
Cons: Staff/or supervisor should really wait a while after knocking before opening the door....
Location: walking distance to l'Opera, to the Louvre, etc.... many high end shops if you are a shopper
The reception staff is very pleasant and helpful. Room is very clean, comfortable beds, and as one will expect in a city like Paris, the room is very small and very expensive. We are on the cheap side, so we had our breakfast's not at the hotel but at the La Brioche Doree, which is a couple of blocks, by the l'opera, where you are guaranteed freshly baked breads and goodies. The hotel recommended a restaurant for dinner, unfortunately I forgot the name, with set price of 42 Euro that includes appetizer, main dish, and dessert. It is very expensive but it is worth the money. It is located on Rue de Capucines, near the hotel. We did not take the hop on, hop off bus (31 euro for a day, 36 euro for 2 days) as it was very pleasant to walk. We walked to the Louvre, enjoyed the museum, then walked to Notre Dame, then took metro to Eiffel tower, then walked to Arc de Triomphe. It is worth to go up the Arc de Triomphe (but if you are claustrophobic, not advisable.. about 280 steps , no windows, just a spiral steps to the top) but the view is worth the entrance fee and the exercise.

great location!Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: the location
Cons: for 400+$/night--the room was basically a large closet, no view . mini bar fridge was lukewarm, lighting was poor and it had a slightly, sour/rank odo
Location: louvre, notre dame cathedral, opera house, tuillieries garden, world class shopiing, numerous cafes and other high end hotels.
stayed on my own in paris at this hotel. the staff was very accommodating and the common areas are lovely.

Nice hotel on Rue de la PaixPosted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: The shower was really nice. The bed was really comfortable. The staff was really helpful. Bathroom has a bidet; very cool.
Cons: Have a desk available. Business travelers need a desk !
Location: Place Vendome: very historic with art exhibitions. If you're into fashion then you'll be in heaven. Fashion houses are all over the place.
The hotel is on Rue de la Paix about 200 yards from Place de la Vendome. The rooms are not overly spacious and there is very little room for the business traveler; i.e. the desk is a 2ft by 2.5 ft table; there is no room to put papers etc. The bathroom is spacious and just excellent if not a little weird; the windows open out to other rooms so even with the translucent curtain other guests can see your outline in the bathroom. The staff, with the exception of the main maitre d', is just fantastic. They will make sure that if you arrive early (7:00 AM for me) that your luggage is safely stored. And I mean safely; the door to the storage facility is locked and only accessed by the main reception head guy. The staff, again with the one exception, is really friendly and can help with directions etc. The TV was just great; flat screen and large. Unfortunately there are only 2 to 3 English channels which my wife, who does not speak French, did not like. === Downsides: Local restaurants and stores are über-expensive. 70 euros which equals about $90 for lunch for 2 people at a local restaurant was off the charts expensive. If you travel out of this area the prices decline to approx. normal; i.e. approx. $40 for a 2 people lunch. The maitre d' at the hotel restaurant does not speak much English and likes to insult Americans in French. I speak French so I was able to counter his silly remarks about Americans liking their hamburgers etc. Then he refused to talk to me

Great locationPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Location, and evening concierge Nicholas. He was so helpful
Cons: Communication among staff
Location: Louve within walking distance. Angelina cafe, must try hot chocolate . Shopping, opera house. Great restaurants( ask Nicholas), close to busses .
We arrived at 12:30 pm and were told our room wasn't ready yet. They asked if we had phone and they said they would call us when it was ready. We ventured around the area which was beautiful, and had a lovely lunch at a nearby cafe. No call, finally we went back at 4, and they had message but never called . Room was ready, luggage was in room. There was no dresser only shelves beneath air condition unit., we put our clothes on shelves and wherever else we could find since there was no place to put an open suitcase . The next morning we woke up with air condition leaking out on clothes. We called downstairs and they said they would send someone up. Maintenance and housekeeping showed up and seemed very surprised how bad it was. They did wash and dry our wet clothes, but getting a new room took a while which took time into our vacation . Finally after about an hour we were given equivalent room on different floor. This room had dresser, and bigger. They were very apologetic and had champagne in room( which they tried to charge us for at end of stay) lots of miscommunication at front desk.

Pros: Very cozy & traditional decor
Great hotel in a central location in the opera. The staff was friendly and very accommodating of a handicapped guest.
