Paris Family Vacation

Posted Mar 21, 2015
We spent one week at this hotel on a family vacation -two rooms , three teenagers . Staff could not have been friendlier - upgraded us to rooms with a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower . There is not a better vantage point in the city than this hotel - with the exception of the top of the tower itself. My girls sparkled as much as the tower every time it began to glitter at night . Nice location - we walked to the arc de triumph every day , about ten minutes . From there you gave access to countless restaurants. 30 minute walk to the tower and 30 minute walk from there to napoleons tomb . 45 minute walk from hotel to the louvre. On the negative our room furniture was very dated, however the bed is pure grand Hyatt and fantastic. Bathroom towels are large and luxurious with robes for the wife . Bathroom is clean but a little dated . Great access to shopping mall adjacent to the hotel with three pastry shops one block away for early morning breakfast . All are fabulous . There is a full market in the adjacent shopping center where you can purchase American and French groceries . Stay Here . Save the money and enjoy the view . You will not be disappointed . My tip- download the subway app for the Paris metro . It's fantastic and will get you anywhere you want to go fast and cheaply!!.

샹제리제서 가까움

Posted Mar 19, 2015

late to hotel

Posted Mar 15, 2015
we were a day late to check in to hotel - the man who answered was very nice. when we finally got their the lady who checked us in was rather curt. the concierges were great - we were truly tourist with little knowledge of paris - they gave us good effective advice down to which metro line to take...the hotel is geared to business and the very well off... still an overall good tourist experience.

on going Refurbishment - watch out for hidden deal

Posted Mar 11, 2015
Cons: the rooms...
Location: It's not central but a nice walk to get to the arc de triomphe, subway is close and convenient.
pleased to have a good deal via the surprise hotel. I had been at the bar on the top floor before so was happy to stay there. The room was a disappointment. stuffy, dirty carpet, old, plugs coming off the wall. not what you'd expect from a Hyatt. they do say that the rooms are being refurbished but mine was in a real need of it. The bar on the top floor as I said above is really nice though.

Great Stay... Beautiful View

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: The location of the hotel and it's friendly staff made the difference between a good and a great stay! The close bus stops and Metro Station were key
Cons: Some of the attendees at the conference had different rooms and less space. This review only reflects my experience, the hotel will be updated soon..
Location: The Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees are just under a mile away (a easy walk). There are restaurants and open air market close to the hotel as well
I was initially nervous about selecting this hotel due to the conflicting reviews that I'd seen on various travel sites, but I am so happy that I chose it! My decision was based on primarily of the location (in proximity to the Palais de Congres venue) and the Hyatt brand reputation. From the moment that I arrived, the gracious staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I have no mastery of the French language, but the check in staff was patient and allowed me to use my broken French and communicate in English. I appreciated their patience and was amused by their tolerance of my sincere yet awful attempts at communication before switching languages. The room that I reserved was a standard room with no special amenities. The room that I was assigned to was on the 32nd floor and had an AWESOME VIEW of the Eiffel Tower! The room was spacious and had a king bed, lighted wardrobe and full bathroom (although the tub that very tall and narrow). The concierge gave me great advice on how to maneuver the streets of Paris in order to see the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum and Notre Dame (each location required an bus ticket that cost $2 Euros or less). There were many restaurants in walking distance to suit a variety of tastes, and if you wanted to grab a quick snack, there was a grocery store in the attached shopping mall. I stayed the hotel for a total of 7 nights and could not have imagined a better location for someone traveling alone with a guarded interest in exploring.

Paris Hyatt Regency Etoile

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Close to Metro. Modern conveniences and nice views if you are on a floor higher than surrounding buildings.
Cons: Maintenance. Restaurant Menu. Extremely limited choices making it more of a cafe style eatery. Burgers and club sandwiches are not main courses.
Location: Close to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysee ( 10 min walk ) Small shopping centre with access from motel.
Stayed 2 nights over a 4 day period where we left and returned to the hotel after travelling. Modern multistorey building with a shopping centre complex below. The motel has excellent sized rooms compared to most Parisien establishments and the reception/concierge staff were courteous. Pricing is comparative with most 4 star motels in Sydney CBD however the motel is a far cry from that of the Park Hyatt in either Sydney or Melbourne. Our first night saw the reverse cycle room a/c unit break down with water dripping through a split in the bathroom ceiling. This was clearly an existing problem considering the old water stains along this crack. Reported to reception staff following morning which was met with a slight disdain. Ah, the french ! Second night was a better scenario with a remodelled room which had obviously undergone a renovation compared to the first room considering the decor, furniture amenities etc....... All in all, a reasonable motel which is value if your expectations are grounded though the a/c problem was a pain.

Good proximity to most popular areas

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: Safety paramount during seige in Paris just as we arrived. Hotel staff very accommodating to our needs. Greeted with a smile always. Enjoyed pianist
Cons: Room supplies could be improved. lack of toiletries : had to asked for another soap each day : only provided 1 for people. Otherwise excellent.
Location: Hotel staff provided advice and very friendly and co-operative.
Excellent proximity to popular tourist attractions : Underground train at Palais Congress excellent. Considering we had just arrived and seige next day, hotel security excellent. We felt safe. Business staff very helpful for internet facilities. So calming at night to relax in foyer and listen to pianist. He was so obliging to play requests : very talented : mostly enjoyed his selection of classic songs : so romantic for our 40th Wedding Anniversary, which was the reason for our trip to Paris : 1st time. Just beautiful!
