Will definitely choose IBIS Versailles again!

Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: Staff, cleanliness and location!
This is my 3rd visit to Versailles. I previously stayed at other hotels nearby simply because they have better star grade. However, I honestly regreted for not choosing IBIS before! The hotel is just opposite the train station and within 5 minutes walk to the Palace. I felt very welcomed as soon as I walked into the hotel and was impressed that the hotel was quite clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The bed was really comfortable, the toilet (which was the most important for us!) was clean and new. The room was a good size double bed with extra bed next to it as what we have requested.

Not for us

Posted May 12, 2011
We have had 12 hotels since the start of our trip. Several were "Budget". The Ibis was by far the smallest room which needed a bit of work to be done. It was also very noisy with lots of bumping and thumping most of the night. Location was great. Around the corner from the Chateau. Finding a spot on the road to unload was difficult. We went to Versailles to go to the Chateau and Gardens. Did the hotel detract from this? While we were there "No" nothing could. Also the Hotel's payment policy was to charge after the stay and not to prepay. The amount quoted by Expecia and the amount the Hotel charged were quite some way different.
