Hotel linen was not changed and I complained and was given another smelly room of more or less the same low standard. I left the following morning instead of staying the entire five days. It deserves just one star rating and not the generous 3 stars.

Reasonable Price, Still Less Than What You Pay For

I chose Baldaquin Excelsior due to its location being close to several places and its easy access to many attractions via metro, along with its price. A detail I overlooked was that there is no minibar in the rooms. The rooms are a bit cramped when compared to other hotels in Europe, the room does not exactly make one feel it's very clean but it's not dirty either. The level of English is good with the concierge/reception staff but don't expect any other members of the staff to be able to communicate with you in English. The neighborhood is not the greatest, but it's good enough for the price. It all comes down to priorities, if price is the top-most priority along with a decent enough location, you can try this hotel. If comfort is a little more important than price, you should go for another hotel....
