Three star experience for $450 a night

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Sold as a designer boutique experience with the aid of some v beautiful online photos - room decor is best described as decrepit IKEA. The "triple" suite is laughably small. Nice staff, a little confused at times. Breakfast good, nothing special. I would not pay more than $250 a night for this place. Made me regret breaking my earlier travel decision to only stay in reputable American chains.

excellent location in St. Germain de pres

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: location and room comfort
Cons: bed could be more comfortable
Location: basically close to everything, the eiffel tower, musee rhodin, the louvre, the gardens, champs elysee, etc.
small boutique hotel in St. Germain conveniently located near multiple metro stations. it is across the street from le bon marche rive gauche. the room facilities are fairly new and comfortable. the bed was a little bit uncomfortable but the room size was a nice size for Paris. overall a great experience with this hotel and staff.

Lovely boutique hotel.Close to Metro, Attractions

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, well cared for.
Location: Great location. Lots of everything just around every corner in that neighborhood. Bakeries, groceries, fruits, wines, cheese, sandwiches, etc.
We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel le Placide. It is a well-kept, small(11 rooms) boutique hotel just around the corner from the Grand Marche', and walking distance to Luxembourg Gardens, Musee' d'Orsay, the Seine, Notre Dame, Le Louvre, etc. If you don't want to walk, two Metro stations(different lines) are 2 blocks away, so you can get anywhere in Paris, or connect with a train to Versailles with little effort. Rooms are small, typical of Paris, but comfortable, and the bathroom is large. Refrigerator in room. Also a hair dryer. The staff is just terrific. Handled every request with ease, from car and restaurant reservations to directions on how best to get around from their location. We found several good restaurants, one terrific(Le Petit Lutetia) within 2-3 blocks of the hotel, which is a blessing after a full day of touring. There were also little bakeries and markets close by, so getting that last minute loaf of bread, cheese, bottle of wine or whatever was no problem. Thank you Christophe, Fabien, and Ms. Garabedian for a lovely stay. We took our 16 yr. old granddaughter to Paris for her first time, so she could practice her French and absorb some of the culture. Le Placide's staff was key to helping us accomplish our mission.

Posh hotel for a good price

Posted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Location, quiet at night
Location: Very close to Bon Marche. Several Metro lines run closeby.
A very nice hotel within walking distance of most of what you want to see in Paris. Breakfast is expensive but then so is the advertised room rate :). We found breakfast much cheaper in local bars. Very pleasant room. If it is too hot then try turning off the towel rail (under the flap at the bottom). Very nice staff.

Fantastic hotel

Fantastic location, just a few steps away from the famous Bon Marche department store (where you can buy food and designer goods) and close to 2 metro stops. Paris is a city to be walked..all the major tourist attractions are within 20-40mins walk. Comfy beds. There are only 11 rooms so the service is fantastic and the feel is more of a boutique hotel. Highly recommended. Our hotel choice for the next stay in Paris!

Excellent hotel in Paris

Posted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: The rooms, the quality of room appointment and most of all the staff.
Cons: The law and the air conditioning versus heating .. seems only one at a time, Get a dual purpose aircon! Also .. a shower curtain or glass please.
I was very pleasantly surprised at how good this hotel is. I thought that like others I have stayed in the rooms would be small, but no... the rooms were very sizeable and beautifully appointed. Staff was very polite and helpful. The cost side was high but with the Expedia special price and the overall nice feeling, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

lovely little hotel well situated in central Paris

Posted Oct 31, 2013
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Placide. It is within a couple of minutes of the REM and also within easy walking distance of the main attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. It is in a peaceful area with very little traffic noise. There are a good number of cafes and restaurants very nearby. We would thoroughly recommend.

Good location for shopping

This is a very nice, tiny hotel, in a great location close to some nice shops and just a short walk from St.Germain. Breakfast seemed overpriced but lots of lovely cafes nearby, also some nice restaurants for dinner.
