Perfect location in Saint-Germain-des-PrésPosted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: The Hotel is very comfortable--the windows open wide, the bathroom is well appointed and modern, the down comforters and pillows cozy. Staff is sweet!
Cons: The one thing I did not like was the view from my room: a courtyard with views of the exterior hotel walls and a well of huge outdoor fans.
Location: It's Saint-Germain-des-Prés! There are endless things to do nearby: the Louvre is a few blocks away, as is the Musée d'Orsay and the Notre Dame.
The Madison Hotel is a very quiet, clean, well-appointed hotel with a most gracious staff, located across the street from the Église Saint-Germain-des-Prés and a Métro station. It is very near the Louvre, the Musée D'Orsay, the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Notre Dame, and Saint Sulpice. It is also in the neighborhood of many very good cafés and restaurants--Café de Flore, Le Procope, La Palette, Le Relais de L'Entrecote-- lovely art galleries, booksellers and boutiques. It was incredibly easy to stay at this hotel: a Monoprix is around the corner should you desire groceries in your chamber: a pharmacy is next door if you need a tube of Marvis ginger-mint, and Les Deux Magots is across the street waiting with your apéritif.

Perfect location definately value for moneyPosted Feb 11, 2014
Have stayed in this area before and it's the perfect location. Cafe Flores practically opposite. Metro opposite. 20 mins from gare du nord door to door. Lovely walk to all the sights. The hotel itself is modern and very comfortable. Lovely breakfast room friendly staff and clean room.

There were pluses and minuses. We were allowed to check in early as arrived by train from Venice. But the rooms were much smaller than thought. One of the rooms smelt badly of cigarette smoke. We complained a couple of times and eventually we asked if we could change rooms as the smell was getting worse and they did change the room to a much bigger room. We didn't have breakfast as very expensive and some lovely little places nearby where could get breakfast for 4 for the price of 1 at the hotel. It is because of the price I couldn't recommend and would describe as average. We had travelled a lot on this trip and this was our treat for New Year's Eve but our cheap hotel in Florence for a third of the price had as much charm, character and service with breakfast included.

Nice hotel in St. Germain de PresPosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: Beautiful, location, friendly staff.
Location: This hotel is in a fabulous location. Heart of St. Germain and across the street from the Abbey. Steps to shopping and the famous cafes and the metro
My husband and I and our two teenagers stayed in the junior suite. It was very nice and the staff was wonderful. Twice we had to request an item, iron, more towels, and they were delivered in less than a minute. We had coffee delivered to the room in the morning and that was a very lovely way to wake up. Be aware that the hotel offers a free breakfast to those who book through the hotel, not those who book through Expedia. We thought the breakfast was free the first day and found out afterward that it was quite expensive. (25 euros per person) So we just had coffee delivered and then ventured out for breakfast on the days after that, as there are many nice restaurants, bakeries and creperies within steps of the hotel.

Excellent hotel, excellent Paris location!Posted Dec 31, 2013
Pros: Staff were courteous, helpful, and prompt. Someone came by each evening about 5 pm to check and see if there was anything we needed. Spoke English!
Cons: The one thing I wish I had known was that there was a radiator in our room not controlled by the thermostat on the wall. We were a bit warm.
Location: Lots of things to do nearby! Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, shopping (high-end and also more reasonable shops), grocery stores, malls, Abbey of St Germain...
The hotel was amazing, and situated right in the heart of St. Germain. We couldn't have settled in a better location. Less tourist-centric than other parts of the inner city of Paris, but we were still by plenty of shopping, restaurants, and several Metro stations. Lots of variety in terms of high-end restaurants and shops and those that were more affordable. An easy walk to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, and the yellow line of the Metro (which we used to catch the train to the palace of Versailles, etc). If you're trying to search through all this information on Paris and want the whole experience, this is the place to stay. We had done a lot of research to find a good place, and in the end just took a leap of faith based on all the information we had gathered. It was the best decision, bar none. We had a wonderful, beautiful, smooth trip, and the hotel really sealed the experience for us all around.

A Gem on St Germain des PresPosted Dec 6, 2013
Pros: The staff is wonderful in this boutique hotel. The breakfast in the morning is lovely. Location, location! Pretty view of Eiffel Tower.
Cons: Single rooms are small in Paris but that is typical.
Location: This area is central to everything -Left Bank, Latin Quater, St Michel, Musee D'Orsay, Nortre Dame, the Louvre are all walking distance. Great bistros
The Madison Hotel is a gem of a hotel located on Saint Germain des Pres. Location, location, location. The staff is welcoming, charming, and most helpful. It has recently been renovated and the rooms, breakfast room and intimate seating area are perfect for a boutique hotel. The single room is small though still charming. The breakfast is wonderful. I love this hotel and highly recommend it. This is my "go to" hotel in Paris.

Helpful staff!Posted Nov 30, 2013
Spent 3 nights of our honeymoon and the staff was great recommending restaurants and helping us with reservations and very friendly! The only complaint was shower water got all over the floor but luckily I know how to use a towel... Rooms are small by American standards but we had enough room for our luggage. Great location near a lot of shops and restaurants and a 15 min walk to the louvre, notre dame and siene.

Great hotel!Posted Nov 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed here for a week long business trip. Front desk was great - Alan in particular (great restaurant recommendation). Breakfast was fantastic, if a bit expensive (€25). The rooms were very nice, although my one complaint is the noise from neighboring rooms. Overall I highly recommend!
