Friendly hotel close to Gare du Nord

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: The location and staff.
Location: Easy access to all transport links and main tourist sites.
The hotel was perfect for us as we arrived at Gare du Nord from the airport, and the hotel is directly opposite the exit surrounded by restaurants. Staff were friendly and available 24/7. The breakfast was lovely. The room was affordable, comfortable and clean. Not sure what else we would have wanted from the hotel.

Convenient if you're travelling on Eurostar

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Update Decor
It's a good location if you're arriving on the Eurostar as it's just across the road from the station and that's about the only positive comment I have. The room was less than average, clean but very dated as was the bathroom. Additionally the room was very small with no fridge provided, which considering that it was summer would of been useful to be able to leave some water at least there. All in all it was ok as we spent most of our time outside and only went back to sleep and as noted earlier we chose it for convenience.

Right in front of grade de nord ,good access

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: Location and ease of access to metro
Cons: Rom decor and bathroom quality
We had booked this place for 2 nights, short stay only. On checking with hotel night staff at check in on intercom we were told the breakfast is complimentary along with wifi and only one evian half litre water bottle. Based on this we had buffet breakfast for 2 days at their in house restaurant . At time of check out we were charged 68 euros for breakfast which was an shocker, and the front desk executive was rude and not in an mood to listen to anything except we make the payment. Never trust the hotel staff if you stay here or get everything in writing else be ready to shell out more than your budget The breakfast was cheaper outside in the caf├ęs and we regret spending more for this breakfast

City brake in Paris.

Pros: Good location, reasonable price
Cons: Hotel needs refurbishment , quite wormed off. Some staff need to be better trained as customer care very poor!
Location: very good location, close to Gare D Nord Train Station for Eurostar, TGV, metro , RER and buses to centre and CDG Airport
The hotel is OK , to be honest it looks quite wormed off , not only in the room but also in lobby which gives you not very good first impression. Comfortable bed, free wifi. I was expecting a bit more from Mercure brand as this was not my first stay in this chain. It will need refurbishment soon ... the staff was quite pleasant (especially nice lady at the reception) except night manager on duty ( early morning 8 June 14) who was very rude without any manners , he should really be sacked from this job. I have returned to the hotel early morning 4.30 am and had to wait nearly 10 min at the closed doors in a rain . I was making numerous calls to reception using the button at the door. There was a security man passing by pretending not seeing me!!! Finally I had to start knocking the big doors to be able to gain someone attention. When finally doors have been open , night manager was extremely rude. I m going to put official complain to the hotel management! This is why I m not going to stay here probably any more there , disappointing...

Nice Old charm

Posted May 16, 2014
Pros: The location. Tranquillity and general ambience.
Cons: Supervision of housekeeping. many stains on the carpet.
Location: Vivid area. within easy reach to and from every where in Paris
Excellent location with easy access from airports (By train), Metro at its door step and a lot of buses as well as the Taxi rank of the station. Nearby restaurants, sandwich shops, bakery and supermarket. Many halal food outlets. Though hotel is old, it has got its charm and beauty. Reception, concierge and breakfast staff are helpful. Those in charge of room service and house keeping needs attention. Front rooms are as expected will be a bit noisy facing the station. Room (privilege) is spacious and has all amenities. Public PC and printer was handy to print boarding passes and maps. Buffet breakfast (17 Euros) is quite filling. light breakfast (8.5 euros) on top floor if you are not a big breakfast eater. Free internet is a bit slow.

Right across from Gare du Nord

Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Excellent access to Gare du Nord and Metro. Busy area; there seemed to be more loitering. An arrest right out front as well. Good restaurants abound.
Cons: Remodeling and updating the rooms is a must. An empty space for the fridge. Used glasses sat in the hallway for the 2-night duration of our stay.
Location: Access the entire city by Metro literally at the door of the hotel. Nice stroll to Hotel du Nord, a lovely restaurant on the canal by Quai de Jemmapes
Booked this hotel for the location and from what others said, and hoped for the best. The room was a little spendy by our standards, although this was Paris, not a small village, and breakfast was included. The room was very small and pretty run-down, beds were comfy but the curtains were falling off the rods, the bathroom badly needed updating and the furniture had definitely seen better days. Carpeting had been recently cleaned but was stained nonetheless. Noisy in the hallway, with other guests allowing their doors to slam or talking loudly. Our room had a view onto a courtyard, so was very quiet with the windows open. They had to be; the room was very hot even without the heat going. Decent continental breakfast, but avoid the scrambled eggs. There was a distinct odor of cigarette smoke in the hallway when we thought it was non-smoking.

convenient to Gare Nord and ... great lobby staff!

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Nice hotel for the price ... perhaps largest bathroom in all of Europe ... train station convenience nice, yet same thing that wasn't so nice ... super great lobby staff, very helpful ... literally fall into the Metro when you exit the front door ... great people watching ... only thing I didn't like at all: cleaning person half-knocking then barging into my room--really did not like that. At. All. ... oh, excellent breakfast.
