A comfortable stayPosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Was comfortable and clean, some of the staff were friendly and had no issues communicating in English.
Cons: The hotel decor could do with being updated, the rooms made to accurately reflect the 4* rating that the hotel holds.
Location: Opposite one of the Paris Metro stations, Plenty of restaurants in the area, 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower
Really is a fantastic location being opposite a Metro Station which makes it easy to find (just across the road). When walking from the hotel towards the river Seine there are plenty of places to eat and drink along the street. It should not take more than 10 minutes to walk to the Eiffel Tower from the hotel which we loved. The room we had was a "superior" double room but don't get your hopes up if you book this! It was on a par with a Travel Lodge double room with maybe even less space. I don't have any issues with Travel Lodge but the room at the Mercure was not what I had imagined for a 4* rated place. The decor around the hotel was a bit dated and the room lacked in size. Having said this we were on a budget and it was one of the cheaper hotels in central Paris with a 4* rating, so can't moan too much! The hotel and rooms are kept clean and tidy and we had no issues in regards to this aspect. The air-conditioning worked in our room so we had no problems with being too hot or too cold and we had no problems with noise from the outside or inside of the hotel. As for the hotel staff, we found that they had no problems communication in English, were generally friendly and very willing to help with queries. Despite our slight disappointment at the size and lacking luxury of the room we were comfortable and would be happy to stay again. After all most of our time was spent out of the hotel exploring Paris and the hotel was just a place to sleep.

Great LocationPosted Oct 10, 2013
We had a lovely time in Paris. Our hotel was in walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Trocedero and a Fresh Market outside our hotel on two occasions. Also train station close by to take us to Versailles.

Great hotel, transport links and near attractionsPosted Sep 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is nice and clean, the room wasn't massive and the bed wasn't the most comfortable but adequate. The hotel is ideally located for Dupleix metro station for great travelling links to parts of the city. The room had the usual tea/coffee, TV, hair dryer, air conditioning, daily complimentary bottle of water and had a mini fridge. Numerous restaurants around the area catering for Indian, Italian, Japanese and other cuisines. Some good local grocery shops nearby if you needed to pop out for a snack. We didn't use any of the hotels breakfast or bar facilities but they looked good. And as added bonus the fabulous market for fresh fruit, veg and pastries is just over the road on a Wednesday and Sunday. A short walk away is the Eiffel Tower, Tour Buses and the River Cruises which are great value to see the city and walking the other way along the river embankment takes you to the small Statue of Liberty and a little exercise park under the bridge.

Walking distance to Eiffel TowerPosted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was pleasantly surprised by our hotel room here. We was expecting a very tiny room and a very tiny bathroom. The room had sufficient space with a queen size bed. The bathroom was very roomy. The hotel is old and dated but overall the room was clean. We had a view of the Eiffel Tower from our room and the metro station was right across the street. There are no amenities at the hotel and unfortunately breakfast was not included with our room. We would consider staying here again!

Hotel very close to the Eiffel TowerPosted Jul 23, 2013
Pros: Very clean, comfortable bed and fabulous staff.
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: Eiffel tower, the Seine and Trocadero are all walking distance. Metro stop is across the street and there is a great market open on Sundays s well.
Staff were very helpful and nice and helped us multiple times and spoke great English. They went above and beyond every time. Bed was very comfortable and the room was basic, clean, and modern. The only issue we had was that the air conditioning was not really working very well. Hopefully they will get this fixed because everything else was great!

More than adequate crash pad for exploring ParisPosted Jul 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the mecure for 2 nights whilst in Paris. When we arrived we had to wait a while for our room to be ready, but they looked after our bags and we went for a walk. The service from all staff was good. We found the hotel to be clean, tidy and presentable. The room was fine, reasonable size and again nice and clean and comfortable. We had breakfast in the hotel both mornings. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety in choice from cereal, pastry, cold meat and bread, fruit, cooked American style pancakes with scrambled egg, bacon and sausage, even facilities to boil your own egg. Overall, although not the most luxurious, it was more then adequate for what we needed whilst exploring all Paris has to offer.

Fantastic LocationPosted Jun 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed here while visiting Paris for 3 days.... Location cannot be any better... The Eiffel Tower is about a 10 min walk and the train is right outside the door (which barely makes a sound). Hop on hop off boats and buses are right by the eiffel so its easy access to all the other big attractions. The hotel's neighborhood is also great. It's filled with tons of restaurants, bars and a nice shopping boutiques. Room was small for 2 with twin beds but was expected for the location. It is however an average size considering its Europe. Would definitely recommend!
