“Very Good 3 Star Hotel, Very Close to the Champs-Elysees / Arc de Triomphe”

Good hotel. Friendly receptionists. Clean & close to the Arc de Triomphe.

Area recommendations
The area surrounding the Champs-Elysees & the Arc de Triomphe. Even though more expensive than other areas farther away, still you are within walking distance to many restaurants, cinemas, & shops, which means you will be able to make full use of your day. If you chose someplace farther away you might have to cut your day short or be too lazy to go out again if you had to get back to the hotel for any reason during the day. Besides this area is the most romantic in Paris!
Shopping
Shopping areas might be: "Grands Magazins" area = Lafayette + Printemps (2 Largest shopping malls in Paris) with all the brands + C&A Avenue Champs-Elysees = A lot of pricy brands like Luis Vuitton / Gap / Morgan / Zara + H&M + 3 shopping areas + Fnac + Virgin Megastore rue Rivoli area = street by the Louvre & surroundings for a lot of brands + 2 English bookstores (e.g. WH Smith oldest English bookstore in France)

“Great Paris Hotel”

Very nice hotel. Great location, close to Metro, lots or restaurants (pricey and inexpensive ones) and shops. Laundromat and supermarket just around the corner. Very helpful and friendly staff; fluent in English and accommodating tp my not-so-good French. Only drawback: toilet across the room from bathroom sink & shower. A bit inconvenient, but definitely not enought to override "highly recommend" review. Neva Hotel is a great value for the price.

Area recommendations
8e is a nice arrondisement. Close to Arc de Tiomphe; within walking distance of Eiffel Tower; easy Metro accessibility to all other sights.

“Good experience”

The hotel was an easy walk from the Charles de Gaulle Etoille Metro stop - a major metro stop. The rooms were plenty big by European standards, the elevator was really a two person size, but so what? There was an area in the lobby to gather and eat the wine and cheese, etc. that you can buy from a little supermarket (or two) less than a block away. Great Location! We were able to walk down the Champs Elysee to the Louvre one day and to the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower the next. The in house breakfast didn't seem like a really worthwhile option, especially with so many cafes and shops within an easy walk. There is a little refrigerator in the room with sodas, etc. Don't take any because they are way over priced. Buy your own!

Area recommendations
Resign yourself to the fact that you cannot see everything! Wear comfortable shoes because you will be doing a lot of walking, lots of steps and lots of standing in line. It is all worth it! Start with the Arc de Triomphe - a long climb, but a wonderful view. Go all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower! Go there once by day and again at night. The outdoor food markets and lots of interesting food places are very close to the hotel - go down the street from the hotel and cross over to MacMahon Street and turn right. The Louvre can be an all day affair. Not too far from Notre Dame is the Palace of Justice and San Chapelle (?). The chapel there is not to be missed. Leave your low fat, low carb diet at home!
Getting around
We walked or took the Metro everywhere. We found ourselves going the wrong way on the train a few times, but we were able to get off at a crossover stop and get going in the right direction. Not everybody speaks English, but there was always somebody who was willing to help us out - so friendly!

“Great Location for getting around in Paris, reasonable price.”

Friendly service and clean accomodation. Rooms not very big, but that is the way they are in Europe unless you go high dollars. Did not go to Paris to stay in a room, so was very happy with the accommodations for the price.

“Great location. walk to cheap restaurants and very good restaurants, like around the corner.”

My one problem was... I had a claustrophobic episode one night. The rooms are TINY. But I got over it. We were out by 8am, home to change for dinner then back about midnight to sleep. The shower is very small and I am tall and healthy but it did the job. I would stay again location was great, staff great,we walked everywhere and cabbed at night after too much wine!I block to the Arc the Triomphe!!!

Traveler's tip
Get the breakfast at the Hotel. Plenty of food and variety to get you going in the morning. It was worth it as then we would leave for the day. Make sure you walk around St Germaine area, down the little side str. markets cafes...wow

“Great location, price and size”

We would definitely stay here again. The hotel is only two blocks from the Arc de Triomphe and there are a couple of small grocery stores close by. Our room was a triple and had plenty of room for the three of us and our luggage. Staff was friendly and helpful.

“Extremely small hotel in excellent location”

Great location and great price. OK for a single business man. Hardly any room to open even a big suitcase
