Nice hotel, great location, wonderful personnelPosted Apr 25, 2015
Pros: Location, personnel, room sizes and rates. Charm.
Cons: Painting, updating, but then the rates would have to increase, so . . . .
Location: Less than a block to the Louvre, Tulleries, short walk to Notre Dame and St Chappel, D'Orsy, the Opera House, good shopping. L'Tour stops closely.
This is the second time I've stayed at the Normandy. Hotel personnel are excellent and some the same as in 2012. The hotel is in a great location with subway near, less than a block to the Louvre and Rue Rivoli and St Honore. The hotel is dated and needs painting, but is clean and charming with elevators. The room and the bathroom were large with lots of storage (plenty of hangers), excellent shower with tons of water pressure. Not noisy. Rooms look to side streets.

Location,Location.Posted Apr 18, 2015
Pros: Explained above.
Cons: The restaurant did not seem to be open, but maybe that was because it is early n the season. The bar was open.
Location: Louvre, Tuileries, boats, tour buses. Rue St. Honore, the Marais.
The hotel is in a wonderful location close ot the Louvre., just north of the Rue de Rivoli. It is a nineteenth or early twentieth century hotel with very high ceilings and large rooms with a small balcony. The bathroom was modern with a nice tub. Some of the fixtures were old. I thought it was comfortable with a lot of personality, an older hotel with character, but not for those who want everything new and shiny.

Pros: Staff is friendly and accommodating. The room was immaculately clean.
Cons: Furnishings and décor are very dated. Other than some updated plumbing it looks like a journey back 1920
Location: 2 short blocks to the Louvre and bistros on virtually every street corner. A short walk to Metro stations.
Ok place to stay in April. We didn't see any evidence that the rooms are equipped with air conditioning so you choose to stay here in the summer, ask about it.

Posted Mar 26, 2015
