“convenient location, comfortable rooms”

this hotel is near the metro station so you can go anywhere in Paris easily. there is a giant shopping mall at the 'Grande Arche', or you can hop on the train and shortly be in the center of touristic Paris. some rooms have a nice view of Paris and the river. there is a small fitness room too.

“Nothing Special, but OK.”

My stay at this hotel was OK. The area of La defense is the business district and on weekends everything is closed. However, it is right next to a Metro and you can easily get to the Center of the city. Room smelled like cigarett smoke and that bothered me. Staff were nice , but not very knowledgable. The area around the hotel was great for walking. The price was OK. I would recommend it to peole who don't mind the distance to Paris. The cafe is expensive for what it is. I give the hotel a C+, but definitely better than the other Novotel in Paris.

Area recommendations

The city center (Champs ellysee) for the shoppping and the experience. The Latin district for everything that it has. The Musuems Louvre and others.

“Nice place to stay”

Very close to metro,3 mins walking. Room is big enough for a family of 4 people. Room is clean and towels were changed everyday. Very nice view,the room has a view of the river and effiel tower. Every day after a long day outdoors the bed was nicely made and everything was neat. my kid even got a free toy.

“Good for the price”

We were impressed with the nice lobby, it seemed very modern for the price. It was convenient to have the 2 computers with internet, although the internet speed sometimes was so slow you would give up waiting. The room was ok, quite aged compared to the lobby, but still good enough to accommodate the 4 of us, mostly for sleeping after spending the whole day walking around Paris. Breakfast is free for kids but it is the cheapest kind of food you can imagine (instant coffee, and scrambled eggs made from a mix, no fresh fruits - not worth the money at all).

“Best bang for the buck (or Euro if you prefer)”

We just returned from a trip to Europe and stayed at Novotel for 4 nights after reading comments at Expedia. It has really exceeded our expectation. It's in a great location right by River Seine. Less than 5 min walk to Metro station, where you can catch M1 line to go anywhere. Free breakfast buffet is excellent, and free web browsing at lobby is also great. Friendly staff. Room was very clean and quiet at night. Bed was comfortable to me (I prefer firm mattress). The only thing missing is a good restaurant nearby, but we just eat elsewhere before taking the Metro back at night.

Traveler's tip

Did all major Paris attractions, but enjoyed a day trip to Versailles most. Go there on weekend, when they turn on the fountains and play classical music. Also skip the ticket line for the Castle and go directly to the Garden. Go back to visit Castle later in the afternoon when the line is much shorter.
