“very convenient”
great location. doors needs to be changed, too noisy.
“Paris in 2 days”
Positives: Close to Champs Elysees, Metro and restaurants. Negatives: Poor service, breakfast should not be advertised as included because it's barely even coffee, extremely small rooms, shower was hot and cold at same time....so small you could not stand up. This place is great for location but bad as a hotel. If you don't mind sleeping in a closet on a bed that feels like the floor with a staff that is less than cordial, then this is the place for you.
“Good Value but very basic”
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in January 2011. We picked this location because it was only a 5 minute walk from the Grand Palais and the big Monet exhibit, Very basic - small rooms, tiny TV with about 6 french channels, no frills breakfast Hotel staff speaks english but not too knowledgeable. One drawback is the lack of a computer for guests to use in the lobby - the front desk doesn't have internet access. We had to go to the Marriott up the street to check in and print boarding passes for our flight back to DC. If you're looking for good value, a central location (2 blocks for the Chanps Elysees) and don't expect too much, this might be the place for someone on a tight budget.
“A satisfactory hotel for a short stay in wonderful Paris!”
The hotel was overall satisfactory. The best thing about the place is that its located 10 minutes walk away from Champs Elysee, and the other excellent thing is that the metro stations are nearby. There are two which are in the vicinity to the hotel. The hotel itself was fine, relatively helpful staff. The room was comfortable and nice bathroom. I was here in the winter and the room was get just a tad chilly in the nights, which wasnt much of an issue. The biggest issue I had was that the hotel amenities promised WIFI in the room and in the hotel premises, and that's one thing that I was told wasn't working when I checked in. The hotel did not have a business center which i could avail, and the hotel staff could not help me in making an international call. All in all, a relatively good hotel for its price, mostly due to its marvellous location. But please make sure you are carrying a map if you attempt to find it yourself.
“Good, economical hotel in the heart of the city”
Pavillon Montaigne was just right for us. Our goal was a comfortable but economical hotel within an easy walk of the Arc de Triumph and Eiffel Tower that served breakfast on-site. Done, done, and done. The room was clean and simply furnished with room for a baby cot - kindly provided free of charge by the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and it was great to enjoy a relaxing bath in a big tub after walking all day, although rooms may differ in what they contain. A simple but satisfying continental breakfast was included in the price we paid. Although the hotel is in the middle of a busy business and tourist area, the street it's on is nice and quiet. We enjoyed getting bread, cheese and drinks at the small grocery right next door and having a simple dinner in our room one of the nights. I was very happy that there were no price "surprises" at check-out or after on our credit card bill. Many hotels tack on cleaning charges and various ridiculous fees after you've left, and assume you won't take the time to refute them. This has happened to us with 2 other hotels before. At Pavillon Montaigne we paid what we were quoted, and that was that. If we go to Paris again we'll go back, and are happy to recommend this experience to others.
“Very convenient location”
Staff were always very friendly and helpful, everyone speaks good english, the hotel is small but the size of the rooms is OK considering european standards. It is located within 5 min. of a metro stop and the price of the room included a small breakfast, which is always great to have.
“Nice place”
Because we wanted convenience with a European experience, we found this place perfect for us. The rooms are small (typical European), but included everything we needed. A breakfast of bread, croissant, cheese and yogurt in a quaint breakfast room was included. We had an issue with the AC the first night and were moved to another room the next night, so felt that the management was good. All of the staff we dealt with spoke English and all but one was very helpful. It is located right off the Champs Elysees between the Arc of Truimph and the Louvre, so be aware that you are paying for location, not amenities.
