Quiet location in the heart of the city

Posted Apr 23, 2014
We really enjoyed our stay at the Select Hotel at the Sorbonne. The location is fantastic on a quiet side street within easy walking distance of just about everything you need. If you're a light sleeper, the only downside is the thinness of the walls. It's not a noisy hotel or neighborhood, which was why we chose this hotel, but you will hear folks walking around above you if you're a light sleeper. The location and room itself more than made up for it though. We'd go back.

Moderately priced, Outstanding location

Posted Apr 20, 2014
Pros: The room was beautifully appointed and impeccably clean. The location was outstanding.
Cons: My bathroom had no shower curtain. It may have been an aesthetic choice, but the floor was covered in water after my shower.
Location: The gorgeous Jardin Luxembourg is a half a block away (not a winter attraction), and the hotel is right on Rue St Michele .
It wasn't the cheapest price online I found, but for the price it was a good value, especially considering the location. Centrally located in the left bank, a block from the Jardin Luxembourg and the Seine. The facilities were impeccably clean and my room was excellent. Perfect location if you're looking to step out your hotel door and be in the heart of the Paris experience. One block from the Luxembourg station.

Convenient, comfortable and central

Posted Apr 2, 2014
Pros: As above
Cons: Breakfast is fine but the tables and layout can be congested at peak times.
Location: The whole of Paris with the good transport links.
I regularly use this hotel for visits to Paris. Well situated and central in a pleasant square it's always a pleasure.

Very nice hotel

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: The hotel is modern and stylish and very comfortable .
Cons: As I mentioned above , it would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities .
Location: The location is ideal , very central and close to all the major attractions . Situated in a quiet square , but close to the buzzy night life .
This is a lovely hotel very centrally located , the staff were friendly and helpful . The room that we had was large for Paris standards and had a nice walk in shower , but we were disappointed there wasn't any tea making facility . We had a nice view of the square.

Nice Hotel with Ideal Location

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Cons: The Breakfast Buffet : choice is limited and the scramble eggs were cold... Only help yourself service not even waiter for hot drinks.
On a the lovely Sorbonne Square, this hotel is very central for all visits and entertainments. The rooms are very nicely done, keeping the character of the building with modern features.

Small but comfortable hotel in great location

Posted Mar 16, 2014
We had a great stay at Select Hotel Rive Gauche. It is located just a few blocks away from Luxembourg gardens and is next door to the beautiful Sorbonne. There are great cafe's nearby as well as a few nice restaurants. We were also able to walk to many other sites include Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, and the Marais area. Bathrooms are quite small, but bed was very comfortable. Staff was very nice and able to recommend restaurants nearby.

Paris! 2014, Excellent location, service, staff.

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Cons: Only downside was the way the electrical was set; the combination of which lights went to which switch was confusing.
Great little property in the Latin Quarter! Location was very convenient to major tourist attractions and metro stations but did not feel like an overly tourist area. Staff was very accomodating of our questions. Room itself was bigger than expected, as was bathroom.

Not worth the price.

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: A lot.
I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. For the price of 160 euros I was expecting something nicer for a 4 star hotel. The electricity was not working in the first room they checked me into. I waited 30 min for them to send someone and when no one came, I had to call back upon which they moved me to a different room. There's no cable for the TV, I would expect more from a 4 star hotel.

Great Location, Quiet Square

Posted Feb 24, 2014
Overall, really liked this hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and in a really great location - close to the Metro, Notre Dame, and the Luxembourg Gardens and plenty of cute cafes! Only had a couple of downsides. First, the lack of shower curtain was a bit weird - have baths, not showers, because showers will get your floor completely wet. Second, breakfast is not included, which is a shame. Other than that, though, great place!
