OVERNIGHT IN A STEAMER TRUNKPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Only the helpful front desk.
Cons: The owners are interested only in squeezing as much revenue as possible from the fly-speck space so don't expect any changes.
Location: Poorly located 5-7 minutes or half mile from any Metro station and nothing to do or see in the area.
In a not quite central location in a converted apartment building off Blvd Port Royal, the garishly colored, industrial appearing tiny entry gives way to rooms only slightly larger than the twin bed itself. Imagine the smallest possible room then consider that merely walking around the bed requires placing one foot in front of the other. The bath, although bright and modern, is equally tiny. However, the room, what there is of it, and the hotel itself were modernized and are well maintained. Although the hotel cannot be recommended for more than one night, and only if nothing else is available, the front desk staff is charming, considerate, and well aware of the bantam room sizes, and the prices are affordable. The good humor of the front desk staff made the overnight stay acceptable, but only by inches.

Very cute hotel; beautiful but small roomPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: The rooms were beautifully finished and very detailed. But they are indeed small. The staff, especially Tanya, was extremely helpful.
Cons: Since the room size and the location cannot easily be changed, there is not much to be done.
Location: See above re location. The neighborhood is predominantly residential, but it does have a coffee shop, and a few restaurants and a cine nearby.
This is the second time I stayed at The Five hotel. The Five Hotel has beautiful rooms and a very attentive and helpful staff. Potential travelers should be aware that (1) the rooms are indeed small, but this is fairly common in Europe, and (2) the hotel is a good 5 minutes walk to the Les Gobelins metro (or 10 minutes to the RER B line). The neighborhood is in the 5th district, but at the end away from the Seine and hence a bit far from the most popular attractions.

The rooms are much smaller than they seem and the star lights aren't quite as enchanting in person as they are in the photos. the staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and cool. the breakfast is amazing but note that it is not included in the cost of the hotel. This hotel is away from main tourist attractions nut still alot going on around. Close to train stations. Overall this hotel is nice but overpriced

Great hotel!Posted Jul 14, 2013
Super nice and helpful staff. Only negative is that the shower was very small. Great location in the latin quarter and plenty of places to eat nearby.

Far from the attractionsPosted Jun 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
For the price of the room, the room should be situated closer to some of the attractions. The metro was about a 15 minute walk which should be considered as the main mode of transportation if you are staying at this hotel. Overall, the hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. It was a great stay.

Good hotelPosted Jun 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was my first time in Paris, so I cannot compare this hotel to any others... It is located about 10-15 minute walk from Metro station. You could (and we have) walk from it to Louvre and Notre Dame. There are cafes and restaurants around, as well as some general stores and boulangerie. It's in a decent area, but be aware that there is no parking nearby. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. Most girls were quite cute too. They were always happy to make restaurant reservations, print directions, etc. Decor was pretty cool. Our room was tiny. It's cozy, had cool LED lighting, clean, but very small. We had to repack our bags before heading to the airport and it was a challenge to lay down two suitcases and move between them. Shower was also very small. Overall for a "boutique" hotel with "boutique" price I'd say it was good. Not great, but not bad at all.

Perfect Couple Get AwayPosted Apr 14, 2013
Pros: Helpful staff and the well presented rooms
Cons: No coffee/tea option or mini bar in room
Location: Not far from Metro stations and well placed to explore Latin Quarter and Paris as a whole. Walk to Eiffel Tour just over an hour
Lovely little hotel in the Latin Quarter of Paris, really helpful staff and nice rooms albeit slightly small! Allowed us to store bags when room wasn't ready, and took our bags up when it was ready so when we got back they were in our room which was a nice touch Small rooms but very romantic and well set up / presented.
