Lovely hotel terrible experience during stay

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Lovely room great location however we were woken up at midnight with a knock on the door and woken up by a manager saying the room below complained about noise there was no noise we were sleep we never had an experience like this in any. 5 star hotel we had stayed during our 4 week holiday in France we complained they gave us a discount on our dinner very upset very unprofessional bizarre they could have used the phone and not knock and frightened us at midnight so think twice about staying there if you want to relax and be left to rest it destroyed the mood of our last 3 days in France apologies given were not good enough very bizarre !!!

Quiet, luxury hotel with high standard throughout

As you always get from Hilton/Waldorf Astoria brand, it's very pleasant and everything is great.

Beautiful hotel, friendly & efficient staff.

Pros: Beautiful architecture, excellent service, peace & quiet.
Cons: Our room (502) was in the eaves of the hotel so the shower was at waist level over the bath which required us to kneel to use it - uncomfortable!
Location: Versailles is next door (literally), lots of authentic restaurants & bars just a few blocks walk away.
Is this hotel really in the same group as the Hilton? It's hard to believe because this place was excellent, unlike many Hiltons I've stayed in. (Yes, I know they're different brands, etc., but you'd think they'd share the good bits with each other.) The hotel is in a beautiful old building with magnificently high ceilings, elaborate decor and chandeliers, with very helpful staff and lovely rooms right on the edge of the grounds of the Palace of Versailles. The breakfast was excellent and, again, with attentive, friendly and efficient service. The hotel has pleasant grounds alongside the Palace and is a pleasant 10-15-minute walk to the local railway stations (Versailles Rive Droite and Versailles Rive Gauche, I think). This made it very easy to get to the centre of Paris for the sights after a 30-minute train ride. Highly recommended.

superb location although a bit out of the city

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: another restaurant with a less exspensive menu for family dining
Location: The Palace and gardens are the only thing nearby but you could spend all week end looking at these. Easy train accessto city.
very friendly hotel, nice room, good breakfast lasted us all day. A bit dissappionted with La Veranda. Food was fine but had no wow factor that you would expect for the amount you pay. Much better at Clarriges in London

Fantastic location to visit Palace

Posted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Staff, spa, swimming pool and rooms as extremely comfortable. Location and setting beautiful
Cons: Very minor and not really an issue, we stayed in the annexe and the corridor leading to the room could be a bit more cheerful.
Location: Location of the hotel was ideal, you walk out of the hotel gates and turn right and the gates to the grounds of the palace are in front of you, it tak
Hotel fantastic we thoughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Staff from the first moment we arrived were welcoming and nothing was to much trouble, this went from the reception staff, concierge, cleaners and staff service at breakfast. Rooms are very well decorated with modern fitings and fixtures, the bed was extremely comfortable with great cotton sheets, cleaned daily and to a very good standard. The spa and pool was a great way to unwind and relax after your days at the palace, again very clean and towels provided. Location of the hotel was ideal, you walk out of the hotel gates and turn right and the gates to the grounds of the palace are in front of you, it takes 10 mins approx to walk to actual palace and gardens. Restaurants and caf├ęs are very close you turn left at the hotel gate, walk to the end of the road and turn right and there are several to hand. I would most definitely recommend this hotel and have done so to friends and family already.

LOVE< LOVE< LOVE this hotel!!!

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: EVERYTHING!
Cons: A cafe for lunch/dinner that isn't crazy expensive and awful. Get rid of the uptight girl at the pool she ruins everyones day.
Location: It's secluded. About a 20 plus minute walk to the trains and 15 minutes to the entrance of the Palace. Great place to unwind.
I fell in love with this hotel the minute I arrived. It is beautiful, with a fabulous history. It was secluded and quiet and a great place to stop, rest and enjoy this beautiful city. It is a trek from Paris - so if your looking to go into the city everyday this is not really the place for you. BUT if your headed to the palace and looking for a place that is ELEGANT and beautiful this is the place to go. Our room was the best we stayed in, in all of France. It was tasteful and comfortable and chic. I want to do my entire house like that room now :-) The rates are a tad high and they do nickel and dine you for everything (it's a Hilton after all) but worth every penny. The Breakfast is great but the dinner is a joke! No kidding 300 plus Euro per person for awful Gordon Ramsey bile and packed full of hipster wanna be's trying to look cool on the patio. Stay away - have the hotel make you a reservation at the burger place around the corner it is great! Enjoy the park behind the hotel it is a great place to ride bikes. It is a bit of a long walk to train so best to have a car. The small shops down the road are great!
