“Great hotel/location”
Overall this is a great hotel with everything you need right outside the front door - restaurants, bakery night life etc. Staff was pleasant and informative. The hotel itself was very clean and updated. My only complaint is the size - it's the smallest hotel I've every stayed in. Bottom line is if your looking for value and don't want to sacrifice location, cleanliness or end up in something dated then this is a great buy.
“Loved it”
Great Hotel in a fantastic location for all the Parisian sites. The area around the Hotel was very interesting to walk around and the fresh produce was beautiful to eat. Hotel staff were very friendly and courteous and very helpful with assistance in getting around Paris. Room was slightly cramped when the 3rd promised bed proved to be a trundle bed that took up any available floor space. Shower seemed to leak over the floor despite various attempts to divert water. Small issues for an otherwise great stay.
“Great location but overpriced with maintenance issues”
Victoires Opera has the advantage of a fabulous location, so if money is no problem then you might like this hotel. During our stay we had no hot water for one morning and the noisy pipes woke us up twice. Stuff happens, so this did not bother us too much at the time. When we arrived home, however, we found that we were charged for items from the minibar which we did not use. We distinctly said at checkout that we did not use the minibar during our stay (other than the wine bottle opener). The hotel clerk did not charge us at checkout but we found the charges on our credit card when we arrived home! And I thought we were very gracious not making a stink about having to take cold showers!!
“QUIET, UNPRETENTIOUS.”
THE VICTORIES OPERA WAS A MARVELOUS, QUIET HOTEL. THE HOTEL IS SITUATED WITHIN MINUTES OF 2 METRO STATIONS, A HANDFUL OF RESTAURANTS AND A LAUNDROMAT JUST 25 YARDS FROM THE FRONT DOOR. THE STAFF WERE PLEASANT AND HELPFUL. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
“Nice little hotel, great location, but no on site parking”
Our family of three really enjoyed this hotel and the good service from the front desk. Only three problems -- no on site parking (and slightly difficult to negotiate by car as it's on a pedestrian street), poor internet connection in our fourth floor room (although it was fine in the lobby), and a poor excuse for a third bed which really was a cot with slats that kept falling out!. Front desk manager was very helpful though, and got the full internet charge removed completely from our bill. And the little coffee/sandwich shop directly across the street was very good and very affordable. We would be happy to stay in this hotel again. And our friend from Paris was very impressed that we had even found this place as she said it was something only natives knew about.
“Convenient location”
We liked the location of this hotel because it was in a lively area. A little noisy at night, but it didn't bother us. Location was easy access to metro and is in the middle of a marketplace and many cafes and restaurants (and shops). The staff spoke English and were very friendly/helpful.
“Excellent Parisien hotel”
We switched to this hotel last minute, after reading some very bad recent reviews of the 3 star hotel we had planned to stay in. It was very nice and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable. The linens were changed daily and were of excellent quality. It was very small (we were in a triple) but not unexpected for Paris. It was only a 5 minute walk to Metro/RER. The street it is on is great fun- lots of food shops and Bistros. Although it was a busy street, all the rooms faced in to a courtyard and it was completely quiet. All the hotel employees spoke English and were very kind and helpful. I was very pleased with this hotel.
