Great location and valuePosted Feb 5, 2014
Pros: The location is perfect for the tourist - just a few steps to the metro and just a few more to the river.
Cons: I am an early riser and was surprised that breakfast does not start until 7:15 - maybe starting it at 7:00 would be better for an early starter.
Location: The Marais is a condensed Paris. You have a wide mix of little shops, cafes, bars and small streets. It's a beautiful place of this great city.
This hotel is in a superb location, just a very short walk from the line 1 metro station and the river. Right over the street is one of the most popular stores in Paris and there are loads of little bars around for you to sit and plan the day ahead. Upon arrival in my room I noticed that the room safe was not working but I could not fault the staff for their efforts in trying to fix it. It's electronic and used the door key card but when electronics go wrong then there is not much which can be done. My valuables were instead kept in the main safe at reception. The room was big, bright, clean and relaxing. I specifically asked for a room overlooking the street and I knew that it was a busy one so did expect some noise (I packed earplugs anyway). Those wishing a more quiet night or early morning may wish to ask for one not overlooking the street. I was very pleased indeed and look forward to returning soon.

Cons: more light
Very central, quiet, pleasant, rooms on the top floor a bit dark, lovely balcony overlooking the rooftops. Taxi stand close by.

Great rooms Perfect locationPosted Dec 9, 2013
I must admit I did not know what to expect when I entered the reception it is not the usual layout that you might expect & the guy on reception was fairly disinterested, however the room made up for everything clean, modern, fairly spacious, lovely bathroom, really comfortable bed, tea & coffee a first in for us on a hotel in Paris, also the Chocolates & the clarins toiletries really were a lovely extra touch, 3rd visit to Paris in 3 years and this has been by far the nicest hotel to add to all of this the location was the best yet, perfect for everything you need for a weekend stay

Great locationPosted Dec 7, 2013
A small and unprepossessing entrance to a rather charming hotel. The room was a decent size, very clean, with all amenities, including an extremely comfortable bed, good size tv, Clarins toiletries and delicious goodnight chocolates! The only members of staff we saw were the guys at reception who were helpful and accommodating. The carpet outside the lift on our floor was old and torn but inside the rooms the spec was much higher. It was a good springboard for exploring Paris, especially the Marais, St Germain and was surrounded by lots of delightful squares and restaurants. Would definitely go back there.

Good hotel, good location close to Metro stop.Posted Dec 6, 2013
Pros: Good location. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: The room was very dimly lit, with no option to have full lighting. Ceylon teabags and milk pots were difficult to obtain.
Location: No information about events/ sights on display in reception. Metro station across the road. Short walk to River Seine.
The hotel was fine. We'd asked for 2 twin beds not a double; this was quickly rectified and in a friendly manner. Sloping ceilings in room were a hazard.

Very nice hotel in a great locationPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: Location, helpful staff, comfortable room.
This was our seventh trip to Paris and the first time staying at the Villa Mazarin. My husband and I like to stay in the Marais, where the Villa Mazarin is located, or on the ile St. Louis, and this hotel has suited our needs better than the others in which we have stayed. It is just next door to BHV department store, a block from the Hotel de Ville metro stop (the one line), and easy walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. Notre Dame is a short walk across the bridge, the Louvre is three metro stops away. The staff at the Villa Mazarin were always helpful, ready to give directions and make reservations and suggestions at any time of the day. Our room faced the inside courtyard, not a particularly beautiful view, but very quiet. We stayed in one of their smaller rooms and it was plenty big enough for us. The next time we go to Paris, we hope to stay here again.

central hotel for all major attractionsPosted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Vey clean and comfy and a beautiful shower room where we were spoilt with Clarins toiletries
Location: We found the location spot on, as we were so close to all the major attractions, i.e. walking distance
A really warm and friendly greeting on arrival, where we were given very useful information about our stay at the hotel and what to do and what not to do whilst we were out sight seeing, i.e being aware of pickpockets at all times, which was very helpful and made us very aware especially on the metro where we were almost victims. We would definately use this hotel again if we decide to come back for another trip to Paris
