A literal ghost town

Posted Sep 14, 2014
There isn't any staff, when you check in there is just a safe with your room key in it. The sauna doesn't work, and the hot tub is drained. Every third condo has a notice on it from the city. Don't stay here

Good location

Great location to resorts, restaurants, and bicycle shops. A few of the lights were not working and there were bulbs missing

Beautiful resort in canyon

Posted Jul 1, 2014
It was great until, our next door neighbor came back and partied from 3 hours from 2 to 5 a.m. it took 3 different times to ask them to be quiet. We had to call the after hours number.

The Shadow is a beautiful resort located right next to the mountain and only a ten minute walk to Park City’s historic mains street. We apologize for any noise from other guests that disrupted your stay, but I’m glad you called our after-hours number to get the assistance you needed.

Pros: Nothing other than I had a bed for the night
Cons: Customer serivce, upgrade the bedding to clean bedding and ensure the rooms are clean. Repair damages in the room
Location: Location is wonderful and the surrounding area is wonderful but this hotel does not do it justice at all
Overall the hotel was old. The check in desk we stood there for 10 min waiting for someone to come out of the back room. Luckily we checking in prior to 5pm, after 5 pm you have to call another building with staff to come check you in. The hotel is outdated, blinds in the room were damaged and missing parts. The garbage can in the room still had garbage in it from the previous guest. In addition when you walked throught the halls to get to your room it was very poorly lit and the carpet was very worn.

We stayed in a premium 1-bedroom condo and were very pleased. The unit was spacious, well-appointed, updated, and very clean. Daily towel and trash service was provided. The building is certainly older, but well-maintained. No issues with parking (underground & private). The location was a reasonable walk from Park and Main Street. The front staff was friendly. We felt overall it was a good value and would stay at Shadow Ridge again.

BAD A/C

Posted Jun 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
AIR CONDITIONING DID NOT WORK. We had to leave the door open to get the room cooled down. The buses ran right outside our door so it was very noisy. The front office closed at 5 pm so it was hard to get any services after they closed. They did get the air working but it only lasted a short time. Also if your checking in after hours make sure you have the safe code so you can get your room keys. We had a wierd experience at this hotel but the manager was very helpful working with us to take care of the problem.

I apologize that the air conditioning went out during your stay; we can never predict when things of that nature happen. We do have shortened hours during are slower season, and please always read you confirmation letters as it will give you all the information you need to check-in. Thanks again and we hope you come back and experience Shadow Ridge again!

Meh...

It is what it is for a two star hotel, I would not have paid anymore than we did for the room, even though it had been somewhat upgraded. The staff member we encountered seemed less than thrilled with occupants in the off season.

You Need to Know, however....

This hotel is made up of individually owned units in a condominium association. When you rent one of the units you have to keep in mind that there are two types: standard and premium. We moved into our two-bedroom standard unit, to learn that it was really a three bedroom. But two of the bedrooms were very small, they were on the interior side, had no windows, and had no closets. It was a little creepy. The front desk was very cool, and let us look at a number of other units. We checked out about five standard units, to find them all very funky and poorly maintained, with furniture that was largely pretty ratty. The front unit came to our rescue, however, and let us check out a couple of premium units. We selected one, and it was miles and miles ahead of the standard units we had visited, a completely different and much higher quality. The staff was very friendly. The location is great for the base of the ski resort, just a short walk. The hotel has a perfectly good ski storage room.We frequently took advantage of the "free" transportation with the All Seasons van and driver. We just tipped him a few bucks for each trip into and out of the downtown area, where most of the restaurants are. Dominic and Adrian are great drivers, and they moved pretty darn quick to pick us up each time. And of course the free town buses are less than 100 yards away at the base of the Park City slopes. The hotel also offers free underground parking, which was really great for our rental car.

Thank you for your review! We are happy that you had a good stay with us, and really appreciate your nice comments about our friendly staff. We do have two separate room category’s standard and premium. Always to be sure and book a premium unit, as those are guaranteed to be more recently updated. Once again thank you for your review, and we hope to see you again!
