Pros: Beautiful location and views, front desk assistance was fast and fantastic, well designed hotel, both architecturally and internally.
Cons: Upkeep and maintenance. There was a vacuum cleaner left in the hallway all night, empty food tray by a door for hours, bottle of ketchup left.
Location: Superb location, lots to do.
Very good experience, hotel just needs to step it up on the maintenance side.

Summer Retreat

Anyone looking for a Hotel in the Park City area should look a little deeper and find this place. The price for a luxury location such as the Grand Summit offers is similar or just a few dollars more than what most people would pay down at Kimball Junction for a typical hotel.

Clean and Comfortable, but basic room facilities.

Posted Mar 16, 2014
A well placed hotel for access to the Canyons, and other resorts in Park City for that matter. Very good service from the staff, in particular the Valet Parking guys (Complimentary which was a nice surprise…). We had a Double room which was clean but rather basic, no refrigerator or seating, which are essential after a day on the slopes. If they added an easy chair or two, and a refrigerator and microwave it would be spot on. I would visit again though.

Great location.

Perfect location for ski school. Our room was not cleaned one day, despite calling for service. We were told, sorry, but we didn't get around to your room today. I will bring you a couple of towels.

First trip to Park City

Posted Mar 13, 2014
For a first trip to Park City we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit! The hotel was very comfortable. The room was spacious, and although the decor was dated, still very comfortable and clean. The staff was professional and prompt. The amenities were perfect! We will come back next year for sure.

Understaffed and not worth the price

Posted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Convenient location near ski school
Cons: Service. Staff did not pick up the phone. If housekeeping or concierge does not answer, it should transfer to front desk which should pick up 24/7.
Location: walking distance to village with restaurants, close to ski school drop off
We booked a deluxe studio with pull out futon. When we arrived, there were no extra linens for the futon bed, so we requested housekeeping leave them in the room if we were gone. When we returned 2.5 hours later, no linens. Housekeeping did not answer their line (which did not roll over to the front desk, just kept ringing), nor did the front desk (no answer and request to hold, just kept ringing). Finally we went to the front desk in person. When the sheets arrived, staff offered to make the bed, which was already laid flat. When we accepted, he folded the bed back into a couch and had to radio about how to lay it flat again (which my 8 year old figured out in 5 minutes). Staff should know how to work the equipment. Similarly, nobody at concierge desk answered when we called to get a cab. The fridge kept me up at night turning on and off, necessitating earplugs The front desk staff also denied our request for an hour late checkout (noon instead of 11am) so we could change out of our ski clothes before boarding a flight. They also denied our friends, who were in the penthouse. We frequently stay at the Ritz at Northstar while skiing and only pay $50 more for ski valet, boot valet, much nicer room (separate shower stall, toilet room and two foot deep tub, whereas Grand Summit has shower over plastic tub) and staff that immediately addresses all of your needs the first time you ask.

Very close to lifts and ski area, good ski storage

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: very close to lifts and ski area, has good ski storage and valet parking
Location: not much
Although this hotel is very close to lifts and ski area, has good ski storage and valet parking arrangements, the rooms are very basic and poorly maintained. Not worth the $500 a night they charged. Breakfast was also poor and at $24 was quite expensive. Ski rental cannot be done in the hotel and the Canyons Ski Rental location was a joke. I booked and paid in advance for the top of the range demo skis, but on arrival I first had to queue and fill in all the forms over again, then they had 'run out' of the skis I had pre-booked. The skis I first had were old, shabby, hd very gouged and scuffed soles, rough edges and no wax. Definitely not serviced in any way prior to the rental. I had them replaced on the second day, but the alternatives were no better. Aagain, my advice would be to go elsewhere. The piste preparation in the canyons resort is also poor. They provide a report on which runs are groomed, but it was not true!! Admittedly they had a lot of snow in the few days prior to my visit, but I skied past a row of six piste bullys that were just parked up whilst the runs were getting worse by the minute. The only piste preparation I saw was a run being prepared for some form of competition, not for the paying public. I will be visiting the Park City area twice more this season, but won't go back to canyons.

Nice hotel next to ski lift

Posted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Great rooms with fireplace and walk in showers.
Cons: More space to move around in room.
Location: Hotel is right on the ski slopes next to gondola and chair lift.
Nice hotel next to ski lift for quick and easy access to the slopes.
