An average place for a quick stay...Posted Jan 31, 2014
Pros: -Location -Quick check in
Cons: -Facility needs updating
An average place, nothing really stands out. My room was a double and it was clean, but lacked a shower curtain. The hotel staff was friendly but the facility itself was in need of an update. There were no bug issues or anything of that nature. All I needed was a place to lay my head for the night and it was suitable for that. I'm guessing if my wife were along we would have kept driving though :-) The hallways smelled like smoke, but my room did not, so that was good. For the price I really can't argue, so I gave it a rating of 3. Could it be better? Absolutely. However, it was suitable for a one night stay and within proxmity of the many dining places in Marietta.

Cheap, good nights sleepPosted Dec 4, 2013
For the price, it was everything I needed. I wasnt looking for luxury, just a good nights sleep. Clean, good size rooms, updated TV, so negative surprises. Good value for the dollar.

Checked in late at night. On the way in we had to dodge about 20 potholes in the road just to get into the parking lot. When we got in the room, there was a moldy smell lingering about. We had twin beds, one of them was in ok condition but the other one was noisy to sleep on and had stains all over the sheets and pillow cases. At about 430am, the radio alarm turned on full blast to make sure we got some early morning excitement. AC unit is right next to one of the beds so be prepared to freeze/sweat if you sleep in that bed. No fridge/microwave either. By far the junkiest hotel I have ever stayed at.

Inexpensive hotel close to our routePosted Nov 11, 2013
Cons: Saying Hello would be an improvement. Apparently Sons of Anarchy was more interesting than checking us in.
We booked this expecting a clean inexpensive place to stay overnight while on a long trip. It served that purpose. The hotel was hard to find even with a navigation system. The driveway/ road had massive potholes that could have done damage so be careful approaching the driveway. The room was clean and worked for our purpose. Lots of places nearby to eat.

extra firm beds onlyPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: I didn't have to drive home that night.
Cons: Mattresses - softer, also clean the place!
Location: There was a Shoney's in walking distance where we had breakfast.
Felt like I was sleeping on a board, couldn't wait for morning. Taking a shower looked at the fan - dust on it was about 2 inches thick - pretty disgusting. Otherwise seemed okay. Breakfast? No one said what time it ended - but obviously before 9am on a Sunday.

Forced to changePosted Sep 26, 2013
On Monday September 16 I made a reservation thru expedia for Comfort Inn in Marietta, Ohio. Not until Thursday Sept 19 at approx. 3:15pm (when I was to check in the next day after a 9 hour drive) when I was told that they had overbooked the hotel and they needed to make a change. I was then told that the only thing available was a Super 8, guest house and another. I told the representative to book the Super 8. She then told me I would receive a credit of 25.00 and a certificate for 100.00 for my next booking. We have not received the certificate. We arrived at the hotel. The room smelled like a basement, very dark and dingy. I went to turn on the tv but could not find a remote. I tried to call the desk clerk about the remote and found that the phone did not work. I went to the front desk and he wrote down notes and said that it would be taken care of in the morning. He did come to the room and tried to fix the phone without success. He said that there was nothing else he could do. The next morning we checked out of the super 8 after finding the there was a room available at the Comfort Inn and secured that for our next nights stay.

they sold my roomPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: relatively quiet, comfortable.
Cons: parking lot had big potholes.
Location: It was right behind a Kroger, which was very convenient.
I reserved a room for 2 nights, staying only so as to get a shower and sleep between visiting at Ohio University parents' weekend. Because OU is 50 miles away, I was not at the hotel during the day, at all. Anyway, the hotel must have thought that I had checked out, because they rented my room. I waited in the lobby until the hotel manager rectified the situation, having the other "tenant" move to another room, and I got my room back. I really didn't enjoy the rest of my stay, as I kept thinking how I got back a "used, not so clean" room. If I have to stay in Marietta again, I will probably skip this hotel.
