Paro is the perfect place to stay while you are exploring Bhutan as a large number of the area’s main attractions are close. Rinpung Dzong and the Bhutan National Museum are amongst the many popular sights here, adored by locals and visitors alike. Two other worthy points of interest that are close by Paro are Kyichu Lhakhang and Taktshang Monastery.

Paro is a place of proud sporting traditions. Cheer along with local sports nuts at nearby Changlimithang Stadium, Thimphu, home to the Bhutan national football team soccer team in summer and the Bhutan women's national football team. When the full-time hooter blows, follow the stream of local sports fans to a nearby pub or bar for a post-match beer ot two.
