“Great overnight stay.”

Very nice ,clean little hotel.Ideal for overnight to or from ferry/shuttle.Not so good for a longer stay as rooms cosy with not much luggage room.Room was very clean and warm,bathroom was great..very hot shower. Lady on reception was very nice and extremely helpful.Breakfast is extra but also very nice..bread and croissants very fresh. On the edge of main town but ideal for walking into Calais.Handy for rail station if needed.Would definitely use again and recommend

“Cheap and clean”

This hotel is in a good location in Calais - literally across the road from the Calais Ville train station and is only a 15 minute walk from the ferry (very easy to find). It is also only 6 -10 minutes (trains vary) from the Eurostar/Calais-Frethun train station and the link is extremely cheap. If you are driving everything is made even easier and is great for a cheap, clean stop to refresh yourself! I would happily stay again and the staff were friendly enough (at least one person could speak English at all times I was there).

“Best Value category hotel in Calais”

Our room was not small but we expected it from previous reviews. The shower door only part opened due to lack of space but the shower worked fine. But the room was spotless and the bed was comforatble to sleep in. We'll definitely stay here again. Bonsai hotels are for people who are looking for somewhere comfortable to stay at a great price, not for those looking for gold plated taps.

“Excellent overnight hotel - good location”

Stayed overnight after using Tunnel. Easy to locate. In good location with safe CCTV car park. Hotel rooms fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Shower small but adequate. Overnight toiletries and clean towels supplied. Good bar and pool table. English TV channels in rooms. Stayed again on return journey and will use again next year.

“Great for short stay”

This was the 3rd time I've stayed in this hotel and for the price, it cannot be faulted. Great central location with free car parking. Not the largest rooms but clean and comfortable.

“Simple, cheap and extremely pleasant hotel”

Very simple , basic and clean stop off for the night. Very clean and perfect location in Calais Hotel BONSAI Gare is right in the middle between the busy town and the restaurants that lead to the beach about ten minutes walk away. Very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended and cannot be faulted at such a cheap rate.

“Excellent”

We stayed overnight on our way to Belgium. The hotel is excellent for travellers looking for an overnight stop on the way in/out of the continent. Staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were clean. Great situation - just a short walk to the town hall and local shops. I highly recommend this hotel.

“Balladins hotel Calais Gare”

Easy to find, right across road from railway station. It's basic and clean, but then I didn't need 5 star luxury. Staff are very helpful and breakfast was great, just can't beat french croissants dipped in coffee.

“Not bad at all”

We stayed here for one night , room very basic,but clean , ensuite shower and loo , we are not the slimmest folks , but we were ok with the not so big shower cubicle.Tv in room had bbc1 , decor a bit tired throughout hotel , but clean , nice little bar,polite staff,would we stay again? of course , excellent value for money , only downfall breakfast was awful!
