I've stayed in plenty of hotels at all different price points, and this one stood out enough to actually spend the time to write a review. Bottom line: this is an outstanding hotel. The entire place felt *very* clean and updated. Staff constantly asked if there was anything they could do to improve our stay. Everyone we spoke with at reception was friendly and helpful. If this tier of hotel appeals to you, this is a great choice. We'll definitely be staying here again.

“BETTER THAN EXPECTED”

tHIS HOTEL IS JUST NEWLY BUILT AND IS JUST ABOUT ONE YEAR OLD. I FOUND THE SERVIE AND CONVIENCE TO BE WONDERFUL. THE STAFF AT THE FRONT DESK ARE COURTIOUS AND KNOWLEDGABLE. THEY HAVE WINE TASTING IN THE MAIN EATING AREA AND SERVE FREE BREAKFAST WHICH IS A FULL BREAKFAST JUICE, COFFEE/TEA EGGS, BACON OR SAUSAGE, PANCAKES, CEREAL ETC. JUST A REAL COMFORTABEL PLACE.

“Atascadero's best!”

My wife and I were visiting family in the area. I had selected this motel based on customer reviews. This turned out to be a great choice! From the minute we arrived at the front desk we were made welcome and had one pleasant experience after another. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. This motel is very clean. Our room was large and well furnished with everything we needed, including a refrigerator, which we immediately stocked with bottled water and other refreshments for our four night stay. We had a room away from the street and had a nice view of a farmhouse and pasture out back. The breakfast bar is well stocked with sausage, bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, fresh pastries, fruit and more, including decent coffee! The young lady tending the dining area was very attentive to the diners and did a great job keeping the bar stocked with food. The outdoor pool and hot tub looked very clean and inviting and we really wanted to jump in but just didn't have time. And this motel was so quiet it was like having the whole place to ourselves. Very relaxing. I could have easily stayed here a month! The only thing I could complain about was the poor control of the HVAC. We couldn't get comfortable at night due to the wide temperature swings, no matter where the thermostat was set. We would wake up sweating then the ac would finally kick on and we were soon freezing. Other reviewers have complained about this also. If it wasn't for this issue I'd give this stay 5 stars.

“Would Love to Stay Here Again”

I have stayed at both the Paso Robles and Atascadero Holiday Inn Expresses, and the Atascadero location edges out the Paso one. While the Paso hotel has an indoor pool, a plus if you have avid swimmers who love to be in the water in winter, the way the Atascadero one was furnished is much nicer. I found the decor to be charming and it still seemed like the room was brand new. It was very clean and quiet, and although my stay here was to visit relatives, it's close enough to the wineries that your drive will be 10 minutes more, at most. The staff was cheerful and willing to help whenever needed, and it the breakfast was typical hotel buffet--i.e., nothing to write home about, it was free, so I'm holding no grudges there. The best place to stay in Atascadero, by far!
