Don't opt for bonkaiPosted Nov 7, 2013
Cons: Please don't recommend this hotel ....
Location: Nothing just to get on to the main jometin beach road its around 1 km horrible , not much to say about in this ....
This resort is not so comfort for anything like staying, distance and even accessing its really tough , please don't book this hotel at any cost you could get much better hotels at good locations for same price. Its too far please don't believe in the distances mentioned in the site.

Pros: Great restaurant, friendly and helpful staff at the reception desk, a nice pool, wonderful location of the hotel.
Cons: Foreign language skills of staff cleaners. Reduce the price of rental bikes.
Location: Located on a quiet street within walking distance from Walking Street and Jomtien Beach. Nearby is a food market.
My wife and I in Thailand for the second time. First time staying at Golden Cliff House, when it was not so expensive. Bonkai is a nice and quiet hotel as opposed to those that are in the center or on Jomtien.

Best hotel of my trip to ThailandPosted Sep 29, 2013
Rooms were huge as compared to the other hotel, I stayed in Thailand. With best in class room amenities/accessories, well decorated rooms, excellent pool & staff. though the hotel was a bit far from the main locations but we managed with a rented bikes (120 baht/day)

good budget resortPosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: Swimming pool is maintained very well!!!
Cons: restaurant closes at 10PM
Location: 15 mins brisk walk to the main road.....
I have stayed at Bonkai before. Location is fine. Rooms are quite cheap. But the rooms are very stuffy. The AC does not seem to give its best and the fan makes a lot of sound. Swimming pool is maintained very well!!! Reception staff are good. Bathrooms are very stuffy and kind of weird stink. No lift at resort!!! Need to take all the baggage by self..... Mini bar is good. But beds and linen are not cleaned well......

Really nice for the pricePosted Aug 3, 2013
Pros: The restaurant!
Cons: Room not that clean
Location: It's a bit far from everywhere, and transport around Pattaya is expensive compared to Bangkok and Chiang Mai
Bonkai Resort was the cheapest of 4 hotels we lodged at in Thailand. It was beautiful, slightly rustic (expect to carry your own luggage to your room, no elevator), with a nice pool and really wonderful restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful, arranging transport as we required it (including arranging a driver to take us 40km to Khao Kheow Open Zoo, and wait 3 hours for us before taking us back). The room was not thoroughly cleaned (though it was nice and spacious), and the bathroom smelled a bit musty. A chart in the room has a scary list of extra expenses incurred for housekeeping services, though we didn't have to pay anything extra when we checked out. The wi-fi was mostly fine. The bed was really comfortable. Nice balcony too. Talking to other travelers in the restaurant was highly entertaining, and the food there was absolutely brilliant. We were only there for two days, but it seemed that the hotel wasn't really within walking distance of much. We had to hire lots of taxis, and they're more expensive in Pattaya than other parts of Thailand we went to. Overall, I was more than satisfied with the hotel and would probably use it again.
