Nice and Quiet*

Posted Jul 13, 2014
My experience has been that Wyndham hotels are always very nice and clean, and This hotel was both nice and clean. / Friendly staff / Pearl River is a very small town / Rural area. Not far from Slidell to the Southwest or Picayune, Ms. to the Northeast where there`s more to see and do.

Room was clean and comfortable. I like having the digital thermostat. Slept very well in the bed. The morning coffee was tasty and the price was right.

Quick stay on the way to NOLA

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Two adults and our 14-yr-old daughter were on our way to NOLA. Great location right off Interstate and 45 min from the French Quarter. Robin the desk clerk was very helpful in straightening out an Expedia snafu for us (one queen bed for three adults, Expedia? Really). The a/c was turned all the way down when we arrived. Frozen in the room. Mattress was a little lumpy. Breakfast was light on variety but adequate. Not a resort but a perfectly fine place to stay.

Nice hotel

Posted May 28, 2014
Upon arrival our daughter found a bottle of cleaner under pillow and spilled on bed. Had to have sheets changed but lady from front desk was super nice about it. Had to call and complain about howling dog next door but staff dealt with it promptly. Breakfast was great first day, slow the next day and almost non existent last day- just cereal, biscuits and waffles. Had to ask for more towels bc they gave us two for four people. Inconsistent with how they cleaned room. Believe they were short housekeeping but overall they did fix any problems fast and friendly. We will go back!

Chilly Room & Hallway - Good Omlettes

Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: Our double Queen beds were comfy. Every staff member we met was friendly and hospitable.Custom omelette was delicious. Better room lighting than most.
Cons: Get Wi-Fi.Need better interior signage. Missed exercise room just off lobby. The noodle pillows mystify us. Debris in parking lot for 3 days.
Location: Connection to IH-59 is excellent! It is 4 miles north of IH-10 and Slidell. We ate at Zia, NOLA Cafe, and Osaka in Slidell, all great!
Pearl River is a small town nestled in the pine forests north of Slidell. Road signs made Microtel Inn & Suites hard to miss, even though it is invisible from the Interstate highway. We were there four nights. It is a good place to go if you need to get out of the New Orleans craziness to a comfortable place where you are unlikely to be found. If you need to go to New Orleans, you are about 38 minutes away from the French Quarter and convention center. Slidell is very close with access to all parts of town via IH-10 or IH-12. IH-10 East is the route to the beaches. We took IH-10 to Gulfport and came back along US 90. It is a comfortable 3-hour round trip from Microtel. Two big Slidell shopping areas - one off IH-12, and a new one off IH-10 at Fremaux - fill the usual needs. Antiques and such are found near the intersection of Front Street and Erlanger in Old Towne. Those who have business at Stennis Space flight Center are less than 15 minutes from their destination. Our room seemed to be at 58 degrees even though the thermostat was set at 78 degrees. The indicator on the a/c unit agreed with the 78-degree setting.. Because there were no extra blankets in the room, we improvised with towels. Even the 3rd floor hallway on the other side of the door was cold. For Pearl River, La. in May, it was a unique experience. We were on vacation, so we were not at the hotel during the day.
