A very pleasant hotel in a fabulous town.Posted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: The large old graceful building was well presented and the room was very comfortable.
Cons: Was all good.
Location: The hotel is situated in a convenient and pleasant part of town, just an easy stroll to many shops and restaurants.
Lovely building in a great part of town. A good place to visit. We enjoyed our stay in a comfortable room. In the evening we walked to one of the many restaurants and had a fabulous dinner.

Lovely hotel and courteous staffPosted Jul 8, 2013
Lovely little hotel in the middle of Sarlat. Staff made us feel very welcome. After such a long drive it was wonderful to relax in the spa pool. Even though the pool was out door it was in a court yard where the warmth of the day was captured. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was well presented and filling. Staff were impeccable and courteous throughout our stay. We awoke to the Saturday market in the centre of sarlat. We'd certainly stay again.

Excellent locationPosted Apr 30, 2013
Pros: Location, quality of the room
Location: Excellent for touring
The location of the hotel was ideal for touring the region. The room, the bed, linens, bathroom were four star . The price of the room (176 euros per night) should include breakfast .

Good location but poor value for moneyPosted Sep 14, 2012
I stayed at this hotel for one night with my adult daughter. The hotel is in the centre of town on a busy one way system.Avoid arriving on market days as it is almost impossible to find parking in the summer. The hotel claims to have secure parking but I was told on arrival that they had no spaces and I should of booked in advance which wasn't clear on the booking site. I ended up having to feed a parking meter nearby until the evening when it was then free overnight. Luckily we were leaving early the next morning! The reception staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful. Because there are a huge amount of local restaurents nearby in sarlat we didn't eat in the hotel. Breakfast was what you would expect, with a good choice of cheese, meats, breads, jams etc. The service was adequate. This hotel boasts an outdoor pool area which was very disappointing. By the middle of the afternoon nearby buildings block any sun and there are very few sun loungers for the size of the hotel. In all I considered this hotel to be over priced for what it offered and was the most expensive i stayed in during my 2 week holiday but by far the most disappointing. The only good thing is it's close proximity to all the delights of Sarlat.

Very good location!Posted Aug 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
The rooms are very comfortable, clean and pretty. The hotel staff seemed a little impatient and were not very friendly or welcoming ( I speak fluent French and this didn't seem to help with their willingness to help or be pleasant). I would recommend that their manager give them some instruction on better customer service. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel, if you don't mind putting up with staff that is not too welcoming.

First class - staff, room, service, cleanliness, breakfast all outstanding - very co-operative and room was very comfy - needed to use the busiess center or a couple of hours and was asked if i could use a coffee - we will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending - PS: hotel should check age/quality of wine in elaborate multi wine unit - most impressive unit but our expensive wine was tainted due to oxidation - red wine open +2 weeks is not the best particularly as we compared with a newly opened identically bottle!!

Fine hotel. Rough Owner.Posted Mar 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
Pros: Its a fine hotel. Great location. Free Street parking if you look for it. Small but adequate room. Very comfy bed. Cons: The owner is very harsh and unkind. I have been traveling in the US and Europe for 6 months, and I am a cyclist. So I obviously have my bike with me (as well as a car.) I walked into this hotel, and before a single word was spoken, he came quickly out from behind the reception desk and said "no no, absolutely no bikes in the hotel" I said "why?" He said "the room is for a person ,not a bike." I said "But you allow dogs and cats and luggage etc, but no bikes?" No, no exceptions. That wasn't really the issue, it was his delivery. We compromised and he agreed to put it in a secure location. However, later, when I asked for a bucket of ice (since the Mini-bar was not working) he refused to give me anything beyond a glass of ice. He was just, pardonnez-moi, a jerk. Can't think of a nicer word for it. And his attitude definitely affected my stay. I did not feel welcome in any way. And I could tell that the gentleman at reception was sympathetic, because he apologized and agreed that it made no sense. So, stay if you have no bike, however, I dont think the owners holier-than-thou attitude will disappear anytime soon. RESULT: Adequate hotel. Mini-bar hot. Small rooms but comfy. Nasty owner. Rest of staff fantastic.
