During a wet week it was good to have the space and flexibility that a hotel room would not have provided.

Excellent apartments close to townPosted Oct 25, 2012
Pros: Peace, privacy & swimming
Cons: awkward reception opening hours
Location: 20 - 30 mins walk (5mins drive) form central Bergerac
These are excellent quiet, well-equipped and well-kept apartments about 20-30mins walk from the centre of Bergerac. They're lovely - I had 2 bedrooms, downstairs shower & sink, upstairs toilet, kitchen, lounge, patio with tables & chairs, TV, phone, dishwasher etc etc. The flat was clean and pleasant and the staff were helpful although the reception is only open certain hours which made it a bit awkward sometimes. The supermarket (E Leclerc) is less than 10mins walk. There is a swimming pool, sauna, mini-gym and a park next to the apartments - the whole area is surrounded by countryside. I would highly recommend this place - it's a great place to stay for surprisingly little money.

quiet out of town areaPosted Sep 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
It would have been useful to know how far out it was, as we were without a car. It was at least a 40 minute walk to town and there are no buses available. The property was good but there was no information in the room such as maps, local markets, etc. Other self catering properties i have stayed in france had a far more welcoming feel. there was no cleaning equipment, not even a dish cloth yet we were expected to clean it. There is only one taxi firm in Bergerac and they seem to charge what they like. Hire a car.
