surprise valentine stayover

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: where it was situated, nice and peaceful
Cons: the food menu, not all people like the food on offer, plus we asked for a portion of chips and bread but were unable to receive these,
Location: the castle if it was open at the time of our arrival lovely walk though and was able to walk round it .
we were both very happy about the hotel, room etc. cleanliness was second to none, very happy about that. downfall was the lack of standard food.room service was no later than 9,30pm but had been waiting for the reception phone to be answered for 10 mins. only to be answered with a lady saying they cant answer phones and be in the restaurant at the same time. very disappointed about the attitude. no atmosphere in the bothy bar or hotel in terms of music, especially with it being valentine weekend. all in all we did enjoy out stay but would prefer to eat elsewhere.

A grand old lady

Impressive old building with open fires, tartan carpets and stags heads. A pity we could not eat in the great hall which was not open because there were so few guests but we will try again in the future.

Bed and breakfast at the Atoll Arms

Posted Dec 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
My friend and I had an overnight stay at the Atholl Arms Hotel. The room was cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We will definitely be back!

Decent place for a small break

Posted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: The seclusion was good
Cons: The room we were in had a 1970's avocado bathroom which I thought was quiet retro, the lady on the other hand didn't.
Location: 5min drive from Pitlochry in one direction and 5 mins from the House of Bruar the other
Booked so we could go to the Enchanted Forest so we weren't planning on staying in it that long. Stayed longer than we thought, not luxurious but for the price it did what was needed, slightly twee with the tartan everywhere but I guess that's for proper tourists :)

We stayed as a break on our journey south. The Hotel was beautiful but in need of some TLC. The food was fabulous as were the staff. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Lovely setting

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: The staff and food.
Cons: The Hotel needs an overhaul and a bit more thorough cleaning in a few places.
We enjoyed our stay at Athol Arms but felt the Hotel was in dire need of some overhaul and there were a few cleanliness issue's under the surface which could have been addressed. Staff were lovely, very friendly and food was excellent.

Bizarre Hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel had no sauna as advertised below, obviously we were too young to be at this hotel as their first question was "are you sure you at the right hotel?" then they said the restaurant was open until 9.30 however at just after 9 and just after our arrival they said the chefs wouldn't be happy to cook at this time so why not visit a take away in Pitlochry so a 15-20 minute drive to a chinese and then back again to then find the meal was cold. Highly disappointed. Hotel Features. This romantic hotel offers a restaurant and a bar/lounge. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast each morning. Wireless Internet access is complimentary in public areas. Additional amenities include a sauna, multilingual staff, and room service (during limited hours). Self parking is complimentary.
