Superb Hotel

We stayed here for 1 night. The hotel, staff, restaurant and food was absolutely first class. All these things made our stay seem a lot longer. Will return, definitely !!

Beautiful Setting

Posted Apr 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is a bit out of the way but then it is a Country House Hotel (the clue's in the title). The setting is beautiful on the banks of the Tay. Everything you expect in a Scottish Country Hotel, good service, lovely log fires and quirky comfy furnishings. I would have liked it much better if it had been a leisure trip rather than business, internet access and phone signal were not great and the formal dining didn't really suit a lone traveller, I had sandwiches in the bar which were lovely but it was a choice of sandwiches or sandwiches. The breakfast was delicious.

Fantastic service

All staff were very friendly without interfering. The hotel is set in a beautiful location (however, for my purposes it was too far out for a night stay but it has made me want to visit again to stay for a long weekend.

Very reasonable cost

Posted Dec 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Showed £10 for dog but they said £20 on arrival. Apparently they details on Hotel.com had not been updated. Also on hotel.com said free wi-fi in rooms but it was £7 in the room, only free in reception area. Expect they will change that now I mentioned it. They let us have £10 dog. Room was quite good, wallpaper was marked in places as was carpet. Public rooms were good as was the breakfast. Bath water tepid in the evening, could not bath as a consequence. Overall acceptable stay , probably would go back. A real hunt in', shootin', fishin' type of place.

Mostly fantastic. Only criticism:Room 14 decor needs brining up to date, especially the bathroom
