Room was fantastic for staying with our young son. Service for dining was average, we ate early in the bar area but staff all seemed like they had showed up late. At first there was no one about then lots appeared all fussing over candles on tables and busy work instead of asking guests what they’d like or where they should sit. Food was very good though. Pool area looks great and very clean but pool temp is cold! more like an Olympic training pool than a spa hang out. Mens changing room looking very tired - felt a bit unclean but maybe just the age. Overall 4 stars as food, rooms and surroundings were fantastic but little things dropped a star.

Generally disappointed with overall experience and overpriced for double room offering considering it was upgraded with Expedia booking but did not include breakfast. Upon arrival I was asked to pay in full for the entire 2 night stay with the receptionist quoting the price out loud (for everyone in the queue behind and my girlfriend to hear who was there on a treat) - not a good first impression or welcoming experience on arrival! We then went to get a drink from the bar although we queued for at least 10 minutes until 1 of 5 bar members that were cleaning and doing other tasks acknowledged us! We took the drinks to a window seat in the conservatory bar area but we were then told by 2 different staff members that we couldn’t sit there even though the bar was entirely empty. Once we finished our drinks (that had been assigned to our room) we left and were swiftly chased down at reception to sign for a table of drinks and food that were not ours and 5x the value. These points highlight the apparent lack of staff training in customer service and putting the customer first whilst being professional and showing some subtlety! The room was clean and a nice place to relax although the common areas are tired and not all that clean. The spa changing rooms and showers were dirty and are in need of an upgrade! Lovely setting and stunning location, just a shame about the service.

Good & Not So Good!
Waiting staff in restaurant friendly and helpful as I was on my own and use a walking stick. Downside was the lift not working and I had difficulties with the stairs. Reception arranged for my suitcase to be lifted up/down which was appreciated. Good atmosphere in the bar particularly when the pianist was playing. No instructions for a complicated TV set but porter came to the rescue!

Great hotel but be wary of the resteraunts prices
The hotel is excellent with well-appointed rooms and beautiful grounds. I'd stay here again. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the resteraunt. It's very expensive for what you get - very small portions. Also, while the service was totally acceptable, it's not at a level that you would expect from this type level of pricing. Breakfast was good but it should be noted that we chose off of the menu. The buffet was fairly extensive but the hot food was not very hot, in fact it was look warm. This is an all too often problem with buffet so it's surprising that Dunkgo fothis option when they are supposed to a quality hotel. Finally, I tried on numerous occasions leave a Google review for Dunkeld House but I kept getting an error and it would not let me save it. Other reviews that I did at the same time saved with any problems. They must have opted out of Google reviews somehow.

Wonderful two night stay
We had a wonderful two night stay at Dunkeld House Hotel. The staff were friendly and very attentive. We had dinner in the bar on both evenings and the food was excellent. Food at breakfast could be a bit warmer. We used the swimming pool which was fab and the facilities in the spa area were very clean. Our room was lovely.

The service at Dunkeld Hotel was not as excellent as it was last year. I could not find fault with anything in Nov 2022 but Nov 2023 was a disappointment in the overall care and attention of the staff. The food was average, cleanliness was very good in the rooms which I appreciated.

Stunning Dunkeld House Hotel and Estate
Dunkeld House is a beautiful hotel in stunning surroundings. The food was delicious but the service was a bit slow. Two of our party of six, meals were served a good five minutes after the rest of us. The room has everything you need except ensure if you are looking for a double bed it has a double mattress and not two single mattress with king size duvet over the top. I woke a couple of times because I landed on the line between the two mattresses. Staff are polite and professional and are a credit to their employer. Overall it was a fabulous stay and will go back in the future.

Avoid wedding and Friday nights.
Dinner was late for us 8.30 as the hotel was busy.Taking our order took about 30 minutes.Service could have been better! Cullen Skink soup at £17.50 was a bit expensive.

A shadow of it’s former self. I wouldn’t recommend it aside from the location, but there are better hotels in the area.

nothing wrong with dunkeld house. apart from the price. you can tell they are using the area to enhance there profits. same room once the enchanted forests finishes £190 cheaper. we where meant to get special rates for a family wedding. i booked through expida and it was £70 cheaper than the special family rates. we paid £340 £15 for each child, Being luck enough to stay all over the world its clear they are just taking the piss. the room was not worth close to £400 and to call a standard double with a sofa bed a family room is just laughable. honestly if you get a chance to stay at sensible rate its a great hotel, but do not try and stay during any event in the area. it will cost you more than the ivy in london for a night

Disappointing stay.
We have stayed at the hotel many times over the years and it has always been our favourite place to go for a getaway for a couple of nights as a family of four, however, our experience on this occasion really disappointed I'm afraid to say. Although the receptionists were very pleasant at check-in and checkout and the woman who often helps organise everyone in the dining room was as always, very professional and friendly, it was the staff in the bar/restaurant area who did not meet the usual standard. Items were missed off our food orders more than once and when approached, they acted in defensive and unfriendly manner. It was clear that there was not an effective manager ensuring the smooth running of waiting staff and not one barman/waiter took responsibility for fulfilling an order. It was clear many other guests were experiencing the same frustrations as I observed displeased expressions and rolling eyes! The issue wasn't a lack of staff but rather a lack of good training. Furthermore, we found the staff in the spa facilities to also have an impolite manner and lacked in professionalism. We were put in room 101 I think on the ground floor corner, which we have stayed in before but this time the room definitely smelled of damp which was disconcerting as a health hazard. Finally, we always normally dine in the restaurant at night but the prices are prohibitively high and given the poor service, we weren't prepared to eat there on this occasion.

Lovely room, reception staff very helpful. The dinning room experience terrible & badly managed. Dinner we return one meal as the pasta has congealed and sauced had dried out. This was replace with risotto, the rice was raw & uncooked and the dish was cold (fridge temperature). Unfortunately the staff, who were lovely, were poorly trained and didn’t know what to do and there was no manager for them to ask or seek help. An offer of a “bowl” of chips was made with no other alternatives. We also ordered the salmon, which was tasteless and veggie burger which was very much lacking in quality. For breakfast we booked. Upon arrival, we were told to wait as they were full. My elderly parents had to wait 20 mins with no offer of coffee. Upon entering the dinner room it was a 1/4 full with all remaining tables filthy with used dishes. There was no effort being made to clean any of the tables. We requested service 3 times which took a further 20 minutes. We were no coffee was being served. The buffet was exceptionally poor - no bread and a very basic food offering. The rooms & hotel overall are lovely. But the dinning experience is truly awful.

Insufficient electrical outlets (2) for charging phones, iPads etc. no flexibility on checkouts. Food good but not great. Booked a king bed but got 2 singles. Beautiful location. Rooms comfortable.

Location was stunning. Staff were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was good but need hash browns haha. For a 4 star hotel it’s surpassing the mark. Only a couple of downsides is that we were staying in the annex which are not soundproof at all so we heard all the families till near midnight. Told reception (Amber) the next morning and seems like she may have mentioned something to the families as they were a lot more respectful and weren’t so loud. The other minor downside was the dinner menu. We had a look and thought it would’ve looked better, but uninspired for such a lovely hotel. The price for the food was a bit excessive too. However there’s absolutely amazing dining options in town. We will definitely come again!!!
