Good hotel close to city centre.

stayed two days for a city break. good staff, good welcome. the room was on the small side and the bed wasn't the most comfortable i have slept in. breakfast had a good selection. staff were welcoming and helpful. although the first morning was quiet and the second was busy there seemed to be a delayed reaction to replenishing the juice, the fruit and the some of the hot dishes. this made having breakfast a bit disjointed. the hotel is build on the site of a mill and has some interesting features in the reception area and bar. the bar area is large, open with a good atmosphere and capable staff but i thought the prices of their malt whisky selection was very expensive. even 25mls of the blended optic whisky was £3.50. i wasn't tempted to drink in the hotel for long. we had a real problem with the shower pressure on the second morning but these things happen and i reported the problem to reception. we enjoyed our stay. the hotel's location is a big plus factor, also the large, free easy to access car parks.overall i would recommend this hotel and i would stay there in the future.

Hotel situation was fine, but hotel needs an update it was like being stuck in the 80's!! very expensive bar prices £6.00 for a small glass of terrible wine!

The hotel looks nice on arrival and has a good lobby. Once into the corridors the need of refurbishment is clear. The restaurant looks good however I advise you book. I turned up at 17:30 for it opening to be told it would be 2 hours to be seated (a table for 1). This seemed odd as the hotel was almost empty and there were a good 30 empty tables. When challenged I was told it was due to a party of 6 people arriving together??? Room was comfy but very limited Tv choice. The bathroom needs a good modernization

Good Value For Money

I stayed here for 1 night (£42 per night room only) and found the hotel welcoming, warm and inviting. I was greeted fairly quickly on arrival and check in went smoothly. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Not enough toiletries for 2 people. Overall an enjoyable stay.
