Not great
Great location, place desperately needs updating and a huge makeover, probably not been touched in around 20 years or more, Same one person runs reception bar and pretty much anything else, wouldn’t go back in its current condition

The pictures do not adequately depict the accommodations of this hotel. We were booked in a chalet. It did have an updated bathroom and appeared clean. However, the decor hasn’t been updated since the 60’s. In addition, the front door is rotten along with the a frame roof extending to the windows. The hotel reception area wasn’t much better. We left and booked a delightful room at the Royal Hotel in Comrie.

We stayed two nights, and our room was not serviced after the first night. No information regarding this was provided to us; we worked on the assumption that room service is provided in all hotels. We would also advise that the hotel provides potential guests a heads up on the £15 charge for what was a fairly average cooked breakfast.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us.We are happy to service bedrooms on a daily basis if this is required and do so on a request basis. This information is available in the bedrooms. For breakfast we offer a choice of continental (10) or full breakfast, the later of which includes all the continental items plus a cooked breakfast ( a choice of 9 items) for 15.We look forward to welcoming you back.Kind regards, Sue

Nice hotel, room was freshly decorated and very spacious and comfy bed. Amazing view of the Loch and large window in room so you can fully appreciate it. Cosy wee bar. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and generous Scottish breakfast. Friendly, engaging staff. Will be back and would recommend hotel, restaurant and Loch Earn as a place to stay without hesitation ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gary, it was good to see you again and glad you enjoyed your stay. The chalets were one of the "originals" before the demand for the log cabins started and thus were designed as an extension to the hotel's bedroom accommodation. The capability for self catering will only come about when the existing chalets are knocked down!Best wishes and see you soon, Sue

Really really not happy, no food available whatsoever only a continental breakfast offered staying in the middle of no where. 2 rooms for guests at our. Daughter’s wedding. 1 room didn’t even have a kettle. Both rooms smelt of mothballs and 1 couple hung their clothes out in the car as didn’t want them to smell the following day. Over priced at £160 per room. £100 would have been pushing the boundaries.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your recent stay. During the summer school holidays we are always very busy and have little flexibility with customers so when a guest requests a room move and we are unable to accommodate, it is predictable that we will get negative feedback. Thus to clarify, the rates paid were £93-50 per night, well within the £100 you suggest and it would only have taken a little initiative to open a cupboard door to find the kettle and consumables along with a hairdryer for your use, as is the case in all rooms. Keeping them in a cupboard keeps such items dust free and protected. As for the smell of moth balls, some city dwellers do struggle with the back to nature smells of being in a chalet, but this is a small price to pay for dark skies and silence and of course the privilege of staying in one of our Beatles chalets. Kind regards, Sue

Many thanks for taking the time to review your stay. I think you may have confused us with the "Four Seasons" chain which of course are 5* properties. We position ourselves and advertise ourselves as a 3* hotel so I am glad we met your expectations of a 3* property. We are priced accordingly with room rates being a bargain compared to many at this time of year, particularly with inflation as it is. Many hotels in Scotland close in the winter due to the extremely high costs of fuel, which is what we ourselves do. In summer, even here it is really not necessary to boot up a big hotel boiler (and would be irresponsible to do so) for the odd chilly night so we have space heaters that are provided on request. You were provided with one and with assistance in operating it. We would expect to put our heating on in September depending on how the weather changes. Kind regards, Sue

Extremely disappointing!
Cabins are poor condition, rotten wood and overgrown trees obscuring view and poorly equipped. Not at all as the photos suggest. Main building is run down and all in need of upgrading and basic maintenance. The executive chalet is no different to all of the others, all situated at the back of the hotel, except for a plaque claiming The Beatles stayed there. Extremely poor quality food, badly prepared. Booked for two nights but left after one night for all of the reasons above. Seriously overpriced.

Thank you for taking the time to share your sentiments about your recent visit to The Four Seasons. Our rustic chalets are on the hillside behind the hotel and all have seasonal views. Two of the chalets have blue plaques detailing the Beatles visit to the hotel on 19 Oct 1964, a matter of history and fame for the hotel and the village - far more than just a claim. It is always very disappointing when guests do not enjoy their experience with us, however it is more disappointing when they do not recognise top quality food when served. Our burgers are Wagyu beef burgers from Highland Wagyu in Dunblane and are recognised as a luxury product by all in the know. What is even more disappointing is a guest who seems to consider it acceptable to tell a professional chef of over 25 years, to his face, how to cook a burger. What is most disappointing is that in my 40 + years in the hospitality industry, you have been my first (and hopefully last guest) who saw fit to walk out without paying their bill - a £75 drinks bill. That is what I consider unacceptable.

Lovely loch views and position but hotel dated
Hotel dated and short staffed. Dinner service not good though food was nice enough. Roman blind on bedroom window but about inch gap in between and no curtains to pull so light came through gap in morning. Also could hear every sound from next door.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It is reassuring to know that I am making the right decision in replacing the dated roman blinds with thermal/black out curtains and venetian blinds, so I anticipate all to be replaced by next season. Unfortunately, we, like every other hospitality establishment is facing staffing challenges and thus we do have to manage our offering carefully so we have cut out our day time service to provide in the evening. We also, when necessary restrict our capacity. Our C19 risk assessment has resulted in us changing the way we serve and this is something we will continue to do to protect our staff and our guests. With restricted staffing in the kitchen we have also had to condense our food offering, something for which I offer no apology. I hope all can appreciate the efforts that all the hospitality industry continues to make on our guests' behalf. Kind regards, Sue

Hidden gem
Lovely hotel, and cute wee lodges on the hill behind the hotel over looking the loch, they are a bit run down but after the months of hardship hotels have had to endure this is hardly surprising. On the plus side it was clean , comfy big bed lovely bedding , great shower and dog friendly lovely walks on the old railway and best of all a delicious breakfast. Looking forward to returning in spring.

Thank you for taking the time to express your opinions about your stay with us. I am certainly sorry that your feelings extended to every aspect of your visit. There are some challenges that we constantly face, being poor wifi due to our location in the UK and I can only say that my staff are human and do sometimes make mistakes. The vast proportion of our guests do enjoy their stay and everyone loves the view! Indeed a guest staying in a chalet this weekend could not understand why everyone did not love the chalets. My response was that different people have different expectations That guest took the time to call me to query reviews and researched before booking. I would suggest, a useful strategy to take. Good location but a bit of work needed
A stunning location however the stay could have been better. A lot better. Upon arrival the receptionist informed us of the times for breakfast and that a table would be reserved for our room number each morning. Breakfast was ok if you enjoy tinned mushrooms and cheap sausages, however we incurred a surprise charge on our last morning of £15pp per meal, which seemed slightly extortionate given the lack of quality in the food served. The room was a good size and the lake view was quite lovely though we could see into other guests rooms. The bed was a good size but there were feathers poking out of the mattress which I had to pick out of my partners back the next morning. The shower is fine but don’t have a bath if you appreciate feeling warm. The staff took COVID measures seriously which was good, however if a new measure is imposed in Scotland at midnight please do not shame guests from a different country if they are not aware. This was most uncomfortable. A lot of potential and some gorgeous views - but could do with a bit of work and better communication from staff.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your recent stay. I am delighted that I remembered to tell you that tables would be reserved for you if you wished to have breakfast. This is something we are doing to work around covid restrictions - making sure we cater for all our residents first and foremost even though they decide not to have breakfast. Our rates reflect this freedom of choice by now being a room rate only. Breakfast at £15 reflects the fact that we only provide fresh, locally sourced produce from our butcher and green grocer, both only 7 miles away. The building dates back to the 1800s and has character with some rooms being slightly unusual shapes and designs, so some benefit from full loch views whilst others benefit from double aspect windows. Many of our rooms have just been provided with brand new duck and goose down mattress toppers and we have put new mattresses and bedding into the chalets. We have had unprecedented demand in recent weeks and have had to adjust accordingly including increasing stock levels and heating resources to provide increased hot water levels to address unexpected demand. The majority of our guests do arrive at the hotel exercising caution by wearing face coverings. Under recent changes in legislation, if this is not demonstrated I have a legal obligation and responsibility to ensure that my guests act upon the required measures. Guests will continue to be reminded when and if necessary.
