Warm and welcoming hotel

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: The friendly service and welcoming staff. Great breakfast and the position of it being near to all amenities, of Perth.
Cons: Update the bathroom, get fluffier towels and take cocktails off the wine list as we asked but were told they are not available in the hotel.
Location: Great for shopping, going to theatre, lots of restaurants and bistros. Great walks along the river.
We stayed over Valentine's weekend. Our checking in experience was excellent. Debbie made us feel at home and went out of her way to try and book us in for a meal on the Saturday even although the restaurant was fully booked.our room was small but was very comfortable and had a view of the river as requested. The bathroom decor was a bit dated but extremely clean.the decor in the bedroom was classy and stylish with throws from Johnstonsof Elgin. We ate at the hotel both nights and the food and service was super. All staff work very hard and nothing is a bother to them. We would stay here again.

Great place once they finish refurbishing

Posted Dec 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall it's a really nice hotel in a good area and with very friendly staff. My main problem was that I had to work late the night before and they decided to refurbish the room next to me first thing in the morning (there were circular saws spinning from 8.30am). One final thing if you put the hotel into Google maps it takes you to the back of the hotel. The front of the hotel (and carpark is on George street)

Friendly well located hotel in the centre of Perth

Posted Nov 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Royal George for one night only as we were attending a wedding near by, so we were never going to be spending much time in it. Firstly finding the car park was a night mare and it was tiny for a 46 room hotel and full, even though we had arrived early. However they were very helpful and double parked the car and moved it when a space came free. We had requested an early check in, which they we also very helpful with, as there were quite a few of us needing to get changed and the hotel was very busy with a conference. The room on the second floor was fine, small but well appointed and good bathroom, clean but very hot and the window didn't open. The bedrooms look like they have been upgraded but some parts of the hotel looked very dated especially stairways and corridors. Breakfast was fine, a good choice of cooked breakfasts and very big portions, however we did have to ask for marmalade, the toast came long before the food and they were very slow on clearing plates. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, it was priced fairly and seemed to be run well.

Good location for Perth Concert Hall

Posted Oct 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had booked tickets for Perth Concert Hall.. The hotel is virtually 2 minutes from the concert hall. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was good with very generous portions . The location of the hotel is very nice next to the River Tay and ideal for a morning stroll. The interior of the hotel however appeared a little tired and the bedroom was similar and a little depressing with dark furnishings and a view of a wall from the bedroom window.

Pros: Handy for the shops as I can't walk far.
I was only there for one night this time and had an excellent bedroom. I even managed to get my car parked!

It was very busy, the staff had too much to do. Smiling was difficult for them. Hotel good for lieving the car and walking round the town. Nice Room.

Perth, great please with lots to do

Posted Sep 24, 2014
Pros: Although the first room we were put in over looked the top of the roof, after asking to be moved to a more pleasing location they did and it was fab.
Cons: Matteress
Location: The hotel sits on the river so ask for a room with a view. Try out Pacos, best place just around the corner. The art museum is right across the street
Had a wonderful time so mush to do, great hiking right across the river and through a wonderful historic neighborhood. Bring your camera there's gardens parks and trails all just around the corner. The people in the town are so nice, very helpful and happy your there.
