This hotel is beautifully situated - an easy walk from the bus stop and all the sights. The staff was lovely, the breakfast very nice, and the room pleasant. We would absolutely stay here again!

Not only should Assisi be on everyone's itinerary in Northern Italy but the Hotel Alexander should be a must to book whilst there. The position is absolutely fantastic and the antiquity of the building is simply awesome. Rooms are beautifully renovated and presented and the small number of staff for this boutique offering are helpful and delightful. Excellent value for a great product.

Location, location, location in Assisi!Posted Jun 9, 2015
Pros: Location, spacious rooms, helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: There's not really room for improvement, given the location of the hotel - no way to expand or add an elevator.
Location: Restaurants, shopping, and most importantly, the Basilicas of St. Francis and St. Claire.
The Hotel Alexander offers great value, good accommodations, and an excellent location for visiting Assisi. It's a small hotel, with only 6 rooms, but the rooms are very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The best thing about Hotel Alexander is it's location - just a few meters from the central piazza in Assisi, and overlooking the church built on the family home of St. Francis. The room rates were very reasonable for a 3-star hotel in a high-demand tourist destination. About the only drawback for the hotel is the number of stairs to be climbed for persons with limited mobility, and the fact that there is no elevator. But if you can climb 2-3 flights of stairs, you can't go wrong with the Hotel Alexander.

Two nights in AssisiPosted Apr 28, 2015
Pros: The staff was helpful. Rooms were clean and modern.
We enjoyed our 2 nights at the Hotel Alexander. It is convenient to sites and restaurants. Breakfast was ample and tasty with the usual pastries, yogurt, meat and cheese, and fruit. Caffe was self serve with several choices. The rooms are modern and clean. We were there just as a medieval festival was beginning so we heard music and voices well into the evening. People were definitely enjoying themselves. With the windows closed, our sleep was not bothered by the celebration and we did not hear other guests mention it. Trash collection the next morning was a jarring wake up (especially all the glass). After that we just heard church bells in the distance and birds cooing. The square is probably very quiet if the festival is not taking place.

Cozy in AssisiPosted Apr 24, 2015 on Hotels
Loved the location though it proved to be quite noisy with tourists outside until around 8pm. The room was clean and comfy, the breakfast goid and generous. We wished there had been someone at the front desk at all times....there isn't.
