Not easy parking, but i am very disappointed becuase I had to leave the hotel 2 days before scheduled , and they couldn’t reinburse any money. They say Expedia didn’t allow them to do it. Expedia knew about the change of dates before I arrived to Italy. Not fair at all.

Hotel Bosone Palace had an outstanding location right next to major sights of Gubbio. The staff was super friendly and helpful and had upgraded us to a room with a terrace with views to the valley without asking. The breakfast was great, served in a room coveres with frescoes. I woud definitely stay again!

It needs a facelift desperately even though I understand an old palazzo which needs to be protected but being a 4-star hotel, it needs hit certain standards. I’ve been staying at countless hotels in the past 20 years throughout Italy, and have stayed at hotels in more than 51 countries in the world at this point in my life.

Excellent friendly helpful staff without exception. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful room. My own room was a little small and not as well lit as I would have preferred but I would stay here again in a heartbeat for the staff and location.

This was the second time I stayed at Hotel Bosone Palace. The staff is so friendly and the location is great. Breakfast is very nice. I will be back to Gubbio and will always stay here!

A fine, centrally situated hotel.
A good choice for exploring the historic centre of Gubbio. The small suite was fine and the bed comfortable. It was fairly priced, the Wi-Fi though was poor.

Excellent hotel!! Super comfortable beds, amazing breakfast, and friendly staff! Very clean. It’s in a great location.. you can drive the car to drop of bags but have to park outside of the town center. Really enjoyed our stay here and wish we had stayed longer.

Lovely small hotel.
Lovely hotel within historic town of Gubbio, very friendly staff. Wonderful views over the town & valley. Parking is free but not near the hotel. We have stayed here each time we have visited Gubbio.

A very special Palazzo
A beautiful old Palazzo, very comfortable bed, and the staff were most helpful. It’s great to stay right in the center of this ancient wonderful city and be given free underground ( important in the summer heat!) parking. The dinner in the hotel restaurant was also excellent with a lovely garden setting.

Nice but a bit too warm
The location and the setting were very nice; unfortunately the air conditioning was broken. Personnel was very friendly but not everybody speaks English. The location is very nice, right in the middle of Gubbio but this means you hear noises from the streets (mostly tourists partying).

Great Atmosphere
Gubbio is an amazing town. The hotel is an old castle. the delicious breakfast is served in and unbelievable vaulted room with frescoes. This was a great place to stay. desk people didn't speak much English but we got by and had fun doing it. We hiked up to the hill above the hotel and there was snow on the ground. Walked around the amphitheater ruins in town. Had a good meal right below the hotel

A beautiful palace in Gubbio
We stayed in the suite with the painted ceiling and oversized king bed - the room is far larger than it appears on the website about 50 sq m - the decor is magnificent - the sitting room which has a double sofa bed is the size of the regular rooms - the bathroom is a standard size with shower. Service was very good and the free parking at the "Funiva" is a five minute walk from the hotel.

Lovely little hotel
We stayed two nights in Room 212 which had been recommended on Expedia. The room is up a small circular stairway. Room 212 is huge -- and is actually a suite with a separate sitting room. The bedroom is enormous, with a very high frescoes ceiling. There are large windows in both rooms that look downhill over the town of Gubbio. This was a lovely place. The staff were gracious and very helpful. I would highly recommend it. In the old town of Gubbio, there are only narrow, one-way streets. Finding the hotel was a bit of an adventure, but not unpleasantly so. There were a few places where signage could have been improved, so we looped once or twice until we found the next correct turn. The hotel is 100 yards or so past the Piazza Grande, so the location is ideal.

Staff very helpful and pleasant, Rooms not huge. Hotel right in town which is great and convenient but can be noisy especially if it is warm and you need the windows open. Air conditioning units in room but couldn't find how to switch them on. After a couple of days we asked at reception and they handed me a remote control.. would have been useful to have this offered on arrival since daytime temperatures were 35C. Alternatively a note in the book in each room would be useful. Overall though a very convenient location although navigating the one way streets to get there to unload luggage could be a challenge especially when some roads are closed for various events. Do not assume you can park close by but thats no different to any centre of down location.

A lovely hotel in the historic center of Gubbio
The hotel was perfectly situated just a block from the main square (Piazza Grande) and a short walk to the Funavia, with views over the old town and the countryside beyond. Our room was enormous, with a frescoed ceiling, king bed, sitting room and modern bathroom. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive in every way. The only shortcoming was the breakfast, which offered a limited selection and poor quality.

A "five plus plus" hotel, except for the noise
As of the first night, it was our best experience ever in any of our many nights, over the years, in Italian hotels ALAS, on our second night, we suffered up to 12:30 a.m from very loud "music" from some nearby bar/restaurant, which we have reason to guess might have been the Besone Restaurant. (It was very quiet the night we arrived, when we were told that the Besone Restaurant was closed) WHAT A PITY -- In every other respect, the Besone Palace was sooooooooooo perfect.

A great location in hilly historic Gubbio
We spent 8 days at the Bosone Palace in the center of historic Gubbio. The staff was uniformly friendly, helpful, and right on top of things. At our choice, we stayed in two rooms, a smaller one on the 2nd floor and a larger one with a balcony and a cramped bathroom on the 4th. Wi-fi was slow with a very short range, and the lighting in the rooms was dim, making reading hard. But the location was everything we hoped for.

Excellent hotel right in the center of the old town. Furniture and decor of the room is suggestive of an old palace. The only downside is parking is a distance from the hotel. The good news is you can pull up in front of the hotel and drop off your luggage. We will definitely stay here again!

Old City Comfort
Located in the old city on a very steep hillside the hotel is positioned well for sightseeing. Our room was on the top floor and, although not large, was very comfortable and had a terrific view of the valley below. A very nice young woman performed all of the tasks very cheerfully including check in, porter, bartender and concierge. She recommended and secured a reservation at a nearby restaurant that proved to be one of the top 3 meals we have had so far. The only drawback is that parking is located about 1/4 mile away. Not a deal breaker by any means, but not very convenient. All of the streets in the old city are narrow and one way with no parking for visitors.

Winter holidays in Umbria
I have been visiting Italy and all of its regions since 1979. This is the first time that I spent Christmas/New Years in Italy. If you are looking for a leisurely, romantic vacation this is the time to go. The Hotel Bosone Palace was a fantastic location to be based out of while in Gubbio. We had a wonderful Christmas diner in their restaurant, featuring traditional and regional specialties.Our bedroom was enormous with frescoed ceiling. Everyone was receptive and helpful. We couldnot have wished for a better time!

Based on our room, the hotel is in the "faded glory" stage, and could do with a refurb. Our room safe didn't work (flat and corroded batteries), and it was very complicated to get new ones provided so it worked. They eventually came from a sister hotel in the same town.

This was my first trip to Gubbio, and the Bosone Palace is every bit as magical as the town itself. Elegant, warm, historic ( Dante and Petrarch were in this building- in the very room where the breakfast buffet is served). Amazing place!

The Bosone has all of the big three: clean, quiet, dark. But is has so much more. The hotel is big, beautiful, stately old building about halfway up the Orvieto hillside. The bar/lounge and breakfast room have gorgeous views out the window over the valley below. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. What more can I say? Highly recommend.
