Nice Hotel but lousy food
Posted Jan 28, 2013
The dinner we had at the restaurant associated with this hotel was extremely poor quality and completely without taste. Very disappointing. I recommend the hotel, but eat somewhere else.

Assisi hotels

Pros: location and view from our window
Cons: wifi access not as good as it could be.
Location: central, easy to find, was able to get free parking (granted it is limited but we got there at the right time.
Only suggestion was to have better wifi access. But not that big a deal

small town charm

the staff was helpful. the hotel itself is probably very old but the accommodation was pleasant enough. we got a room for 4 people--1 double bed in the loft above and 3 single bed below, very convenient for family or group. we got an incredible view of the town from our room. the best part, it's 5-10 minute walk to St. Francis' basilica. we would stay here again.

Pros: The friendly atmosphere and gorgeous view.
Hotel was very nice. Not fancy...but, lovely. Manager, Martin...extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Great experience in one of the most beautiful places on earth, Assisi!

GREAT VIEW

Pros: LOCATION!
Cons: PARKING
Location: Close to the Basilica, in the Heart of the historic area
Great Location in Assisi. Parking is a challenge. Area is very hilly so if walking is a problem consider one of the hotels not in the historic part. Breakfest was simple. Had a great view.Would stay again. Rooms are small for a family of 4.

Nice hotel, excellent location

This is a nice hotel. My room was small but it had a beautiful view out over the valley. The hotel struck me as a solid three-star hotel because the furnishings are not quite as deluxe as one would expect at a four-star place. Also, there is no wi-fi in the room, even if you are willing to pay extra for it. Friendly, English-speaking staff. Assisi itself is a fascinating place, small enough to walk everywhere. This hotel has an excellent location, close to the center of town (for shops, restaurants, etc.), the bus station, and the Basilica of St. Francis.

Great place for an overnight stay!

My wife and I stopped into Assisi for a 24-hour stay while honeymooning in Rome. The hotel is about a 5-minute (UPHILL) walk from the Giovanni Paolo II parking lot/bus stop. Assisi is difficult to get around in with large luggage, there's just no getting around that. The hotel staff was friendly and spoke English well - a plus since we didn't learn much Italian before we left. The wireless internet service was provided via a print-out password you receive upon arrival. It doesn't work in your room, only in the hotel lobby. However, it is quite fast when you're in the lobby. We hiked about ten minutes to get to St. Clare's (UPHILL), and about 7 minutes to St. Francis's (mostly level or DOWNHILL). Our room had a breathtaking view of the Medieval city and the Umbrian plain. Breakfast was typical Italian fare - ham and cheese, croissants and rolls, cappuccino and coffee, juices and sweet breads. It's enough to get you through the day. We would definitely stay here again if we ever make it back to Assisi.
