Peterborough is a nice place to visit

Posted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Staff, in particular are very helpful
Cons: A/C very loud but that saved me using my sound machine. Others may not be so happy with the noise. Water in the bathroom ran hot and cold.
Location: Visited Griffins Greenhouses. They were beautiful and worth the 20 minutes drive. Of course, we always go to the Kawartha slot machines.
It was pleasant. We have stayed at this particular hotel before.

Nice comfortable hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Room was a good size with a big King size bed.
Cons: Check In.
Location: Hotel was close to everything, very good location
Hotel was nice, but when I checked in, I was asked for a credit card. I asked why a credit card would be needed and I was told "You might steal the towels or sheets" I found that very offensive. I am not in the habit of stealing from any hotel that I have ever stayed in. I realize that hotels have to be careful these days, but I do not think that is a good answer to give a customer.

I recently booked this hotel for my family when they came to visit me. I was impressed by the cheap price, free parking, free wifi, and free breakfast in the morning. There was lots of parking and the outside of the building looked like any ordinary hotel. It was in a great location with walking and driving distance from restaurants and the Lansdowne mall. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly but the lady cleaning the rooms wasn't. She ignored us as we walked passed us and seemed very angry for some reason. There was 3 pizza boxes just left in the hall way that she walked right past and didn't pick up (not from us) so it made the place look a little dirty. The room itself was clean (2 queen beds on the 2nd floor). My family members were happy they could adjust their own room thermostat. Overall, I would go again but it would not be my top choice, some of the staff were rude and the hallways weren't very well lit. The biggest concern I had was about safety, anyone could come in and use the side entrance to get right up to the second floors where the rooms were. There was no sense of security or a swipe system to get in.

Nice hotel in Peterborough

Posted May 19, 2014
Pros: I enjoyed the location, room was nice
Cons: Breakfast hall too crowded on Sunday morning, trouble getting g to food with all the people. No control over air conditioning settings.
It was an overall good experience. Clean, quiet room, affordable.

Was just OK

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: comfortable beds
Cons: size of room, upgrade to bathroom and tv
Location: On Lansdowne, the hotel is close to mall and restaurants.
Was in Peterborough to attend a wedding. Had little interaction with staff; a bit slow on check in, but friendly enough. The breakfast had a decent selection and was better than most we've had while travelling in Canada (and included in the cost of the room). The beds (queen) were comfortable. Everything seemed small and narrow, from the lobby to the hallways to the room. The stairwell had a nasty odour and the door to the second floor was difficult to open. The room was small, particularly with four of us in there. Though the room wasn't dirty, the shower needed an upgrade and there was mildew (or something) along the top where the wall meets the ceiling....a bit of a turn off. It was a warm, humid day and we had issues getting the room cooled; the air conditioning would come on, but turn off fairly quickly and not turn on again unless you did it manually. I guess I can't complain too loudly, the price (through expedia) was decent. Would recommend, but with a caveat.

Pros: a good location, easy to find, right near major access roads, shopping & tourist attractions
Location: Located near the Canoe museum, Peterborough locks
The motel provides lots of parking, clean rooms, polite staff & a decent breakfast area with a lot of tables, a free morning paper. They have a staff member replenishing the food when needed & cleaning up. A good variety of breakfast food.
