Riverbank Lodge

Newly built in 2006, RiverBank Lodge is a beautiful Northwoods themed facility located directly on the banks of the Sangamon River in the heart of Historic Menard County, IL. Dramatic interior spaces include a lobby with a soaring 50ft ceiling, 2nd floor wrap-around balcony and many rooms overlooking the river. Meeting rooms and Banquet Hall available for small events, conferences and retreats. Our location in Petersburg is ideally close to Lincolns New Salem State Park, an 1830s recreation of President Lincoln's boyhood home. The State Capitol of Springfield is close by, where you can enjoy the day touring the excellent Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum and Library. Also within minutes are the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Preserve, as well as both Emiquon and Chautauqua Nature Preserves. The Menard County Tourism office is located right inside our building to help guests navigate to these destinations, otherwise guests can stroll the walkable selection of downtown Petersburg, around which are arrayed a variety of Antique shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Golfing, Canoeing and Kayaking, and Winery Tours are also in the immediate area.
