Hotel had a nice view of Lake Michigan

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: It had a reasonable price, a good location, the staff was friendly, and the stay was very comfortable.
Cons: rooms could use a little updating. There were tears in the carpeting and shower curtain.
My girlfriend and I were wanting to find a room near the wine country of northern Michigan on short notice. We came across this place and they had a reasonable rate and more importantly an available room. It is situated close to Lake Michigan and a quick drive to the downtown area of Petoskey. We stayed two night, Friday and Saturday. We were both very pleased with our stay. We would stay there again and recommend it to our friends. They also have a pool with a deep end.

Not the worst hotel room i've ever been in

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Quiet at night. Decent breakfast- they have a waffle machine.
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Anything outdoors. Casino nearby
The room could have been cleaner- there was old coffee in the inroom coffee pot from the last guest- gross. I had to clean it out to use it. Bathrooms were tiny and difficult for 2 girls to share. When i went to check out, a fellow guest was at the front desk complaining about a homeless person that was sleeping in one of the hallways.

One NIght Stay

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: Price was main consideration
Cons: Update rooms
Location: Petosky is a cute little town with some great old homes.
Looking for a room for 1 night on our way south. It was OK. You get what you pay for. Hallway was musty and smelled of chlorine. Entry to our hall had 1/2 the drywall missing - I hope they were renovating!!

Cleaning staff needs to be retrained.

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Convenience, price
Cons: Cleaning staff
Front desk staff was great! Very friendly! The cleaning staff needs to be retrained. We stayed a weekend here for a basketball tournament. When we entered the room, we noticed that the carpet had dirt and grass in several areas. It was obvious the cleaning crew never vacuumed. The next day when we returned to our room after it had been "cleaned", the carpet was still dirty and the towels were hanging up all folded like fresh towels, but they were still wet from our shower that morning. They obviously never replaced them. I found some clean fresh towels on a cleaning cart that was left in the hallway with no one in attendance. The next day I left a note for the cleaning staff to please replace the towels and vacuum the carpet. We got the clean towels, but they didn't vacuum up the grass and dirt. Thankfully the sheets looked fresh.

This hotel was overpriced for what I paid for it. While the inside of the room was OK, it looked as if the outside had not been remodeled in years. Also, the room door had to be forced shut.

Overpriced, rude staff, but clean

Posted Sep 2, 2014
The hotel is in need of some major renovations. It was very expensive to stay at such an outdated place. The only upside was how clean it was. Despite the obvious aging of the entire building and rooms, this is one of the cleanest hotels I have been in, kudos to the housekeeping staff. The rest of the staff we encountered, including the hotel manager were extremely rude. We were charged double before we even arrived and were told by the manager that it wasn't their fault and there was nothing that could be done about it. Due to the way we were mistreated, I will never stay at this establishment again.

Overpriced and dirty

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Hotel is appalling on the outside. Before we even got to our room my fiancée was on the phone with other establishments trying to find vacancies (unfortunately none were available). The hallway was littered with bugs as was the room. Will not be going back

Pros: comfy bed
Cons: this hotel need a good cleaning as well as a total remodel.
Location: downtown Petosky , close to everything
this hotel is soooo rundown and in need of a good cleaning as well as a total remodel, the bathroom was clean as well as the sheets and the bed was comfortable, however the towels were so old that they had holes in them. The room was a SPIDER BREEDING GROUND, we are talking about wood spiders the size of a quarters!!!!

A little rundown but nice enough

The hotel is showing its age but the staff were nice and it was good for what it was supposed to be; a place to stay for the night.
