Cleaning staff needs to be retrained.

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Convenience, price
Cons: Cleaning staff
Front desk staff was great! Very friendly! The cleaning staff needs to be retrained. We stayed a weekend here for a basketball tournament. When we entered the room, we noticed that the carpet had dirt and grass in several areas. It was obvious the cleaning crew never vacuumed. The next day when we returned to our room after it had been "cleaned", the carpet was still dirty and the towels were hanging up all folded like fresh towels, but they were still wet from our shower that morning. They obviously never replaced them. I found some clean fresh towels on a cleaning cart that was left in the hallway with no one in attendance. The next day I left a note for the cleaning staff to please replace the towels and vacuum the carpet. We got the clean towels, but they didn't vacuum up the grass and dirt. Thankfully the sheets looked fresh.

This hotel was overpriced for what I paid for it. While the inside of the room was OK, it looked as if the outside had not been remodeled in years. Also, the room door had to be forced shut.

Overpriced, rude staff, but clean

Posted Sep 2, 2014
The hotel is in need of some major renovations. It was very expensive to stay at such an outdated place. The only upside was how clean it was. Despite the obvious aging of the entire building and rooms, this is one of the cleanest hotels I have been in, kudos to the housekeeping staff. The rest of the staff we encountered, including the hotel manager were extremely rude. We were charged double before we even arrived and were told by the manager that it wasn't their fault and there was nothing that could be done about it. Due to the way we were mistreated, I will never stay at this establishment again.

Overpriced and dirty

Hotel is appalling on the outside. Before we even got to our room my fiancée was on the phone with other establishments trying to find vacancies (unfortunately none were available). The hallway was littered with bugs as was the room. Will not be going back

Pros: comfy bed
Cons: this hotel need a good cleaning as well as a total remodel.
Location: downtown Petosky , close to everything
this hotel is soooo rundown and in need of a good cleaning as well as a total remodel, the bathroom was clean as well as the sheets and the bed was comfortable, however the towels were so old that they had holes in them. The room was a SPIDER BREEDING GROUND, we are talking about wood spiders the size of a quarters!!!!

A little rundown but nice enough

The hotel is showing its age but the staff were nice and it was good for what it was supposed to be; a place to stay for the night.

Overpriced old rundown hotel in great location

Pros: Good location.
We could hear the people above us walking around and the creaking of the floor clearly. Their staff didn't make us feel welcomed nor show any enthusiasm to serve.

I stayed just one night at this hotel but upon returning home I discovered I left a few items behind. I called the front desk and they replied that housekeeping would be asked. I called again and the front desk replied that no items had been found and they are not responsible for lost items, anyhow. So, in effect, my items were stolen. I would not recommend this hotel.

Pros: bed and pillows were really comfy amd it had a fridge
Cons: the looks the smell and room access
Location: beaches. casino we were just passing thru
Exterior of the hotel is very worn. Rooms are hard tp access on the second floor where we were. Up and down several sets of steps in and out of the building. Really weird setup. Room was big, very comfortable bed and pillows, appeared clean but had a VERY odd smell. stale musty mixed with a medicinal odor?? Didn't use the pool... wasn't comfortable with the upkeep and was concerned with the pool maintenence on relation to the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was ok. Glad only staying one night.
