Pros: The staff, the room and location.
Cons: Nothing
I've never been to a motel/hotel that made me feel more at ease and at home than Charlevoix Inn & Suites. I would strongly recommend that motel to anyone. Immaculate and comfortable. An excellent continental breakfast.

Near friends

We were in Charlevoix to visit friends who happen to live nearby your hotel. Everything about the hotel was convenient.Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone seemed to genuinely like working at the hotel.

Pros: The staff, particularly Nancy, was extremely helpful and pleasant.
Cons: Room was small and very hot and stuffy. Pillows were very lumpy & uncomfortable. We were awakened late Sat and early Sun by dog barking in the hall.
Staff was very nice but accommodations were not up to standard at all. Also very annoyed with dog barking in the hall after midnight on Saturday night and again very early Sunday morning.

Nice Hotel on Northern edge of Charlevoix

Pros: Nice room, good bed.
Hotel facility very good for this rating (3 stars). Bed comfortable, Breakfast a good continental version; includes waffles. Shower; no bath tub (not a big deal).

I've stayed here twice now, and both times my card was charged way more than it should have been. And no one could seem to tell me why. 1st time I was charged twice for one room, and told me there wasn't anything they could do about it, and the second time they charged me $50 deposit as a "incidental" fee just in case. Even though I had no choice, i didn't get to inspect the room myself, and it was charged right Away, it supposedly reimbursed at check out... Without them even looking for incidentals. I'm confused. Can you say shady? I will NOT be returning to this facility.

Good evening! Thank you for your stays and I'm very sorry for the disappointments you experienced with the extra charges for your stay. That is certainly not something that should of occurred and we do rectify any mistakes on our part promptly - I'm very sorry if there was confusion with yours. In regards to the incidental deposit, we do authorize guest credit cards an additional $50 to $100 (for suites) to cover accidental damage or items being charged to the room that aren't part of the cost of the room. We don't charge this, but the authorization will show up on your credit card should you check your account. If nothing is billed to your room or damaged in your room, then we release the authorization immediately. The banks, though, will take 3 to 10 business days to update your account. We do normally explain this practice (a common one among the lodging industry to protect our guests and properties) and we have it noted on our check-in policies, but I'm sorry that it wasn't clear enough or explained well for you. We certainly didn't mean to make this shady - not only do we explain this at check-in, but we also have it listed on our confirmation letters as well. I will look at better ways to make this more clear, though. I apologize again for the confusion. Thank you for letting me know so I can address it with our team. Was the bathroom an after thought?

Pros: It was clean and the windows actually opened so there was fresh air, Pleasant room, comfortable beds. Nice breakfast, quiet.
Location: We spent the day shopping the shops in Charlevoix, The hotel is in a nice quiet area, but close enuf to downtown.
There was no room to put anything...dirty clothes, clean clothes, bath towels.....just stand there and spin around trying to figure out how to make thus work. Had a noisy sliding door that woke my husband everytime if got up.

Pros: the exterior was appealing, close to stores, activities and restaurants. the personnel were friendly and informative.
Cons: customer should be more informed as to accommodation availability
Location: many shops, wineries, art festival and variety of restaurants
hotel was nice appearing, but we were given a handicap room which had a shower with a hand held shower head only. The shower curtain was quite moldy. The room was clean and adequate. The room was not ready when we arrived at the check in time but we were told it would only be about 10 minutes. we chose to explore the town while we were waiting.

Nice comfortable hotel

Pros: The comfortable beds, the free breakfast and 24 hour coffee. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The air conditioner could not be changed to a different temperature. It was either on or off.
Location: It was on a main road and there were many quaint shops, restaurants and bars nearby. We only stayed one night for a wedding.
We were in town for a wedding and spent the night along with other wedding guests. Everything was to our liking. We all had a nice breakfast before checking out. Would stay there again.

This was our first trip to Charlevoix. We had a very good time and found the hotel very accommodating. The staff helpful and the breakfasts enjoyable. The pool and spa were very nice as well. We had our two yorkies with us and are always happy when lodgings take pets.
