cozy, lovely, peaceful hotel, in beautiful area

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: I mentioned that above.
Cons: The room was a little chilly for me, but the staff kindly adjusted that so there was nothing I didn't like.
Location: I loved the beauty of the area, but wasn't there to do anything. There is shopping, boating, hiking, skiing, swimming, walking on the beach, eating.
It was peaceful, quiet, relaxing, and cozy. I liked being close to a historic town. I liked everything about the room and the bathroom. I liked having a chair to sit in and a comfortable bed. It was a great experience. It is the second time I have been there in two months. As a single woman, I felt safe and all my needs were met. Not to mention, that it is by a lovely beach and the most spectacular views ever. I loved being in the quaint historic town and at the same time not a big city. I loved it and would return again and again. I just wish the prices were less, but I felt the price was matched the high quality of the stay. The last time I stayed there I had the breakfast which was outstanding.

Loved the location.

Pros: The location and the old time charm.
Cons: Nothing.
We stayed 2 nights at the Stafford Perry Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. No coffee maker in the room but it was available by the front desk 24/7. We had a balcony and the sunset the first night was breathtaking. We could walk into town and restaurants. We ate breakfast both mornings and the food was very good, especially the sticky buns. Service was very good.

Pros: Location & history
Cons: Small , uncomfortable beds and very small tv
Location: Ate dinner at the City Park Grill Christmas shopped in charming shops
The Perry is a historic, charming hotel right downtown Petoskey. It's an easy walk to food and shopping.

Bed comfort

Posted Sep 18, 2013
The beds need to be a bit more comfortable, ours was likee sleeping on a couch. They could be a bit more forgiving on the body, and the pillows were useless. One night was enough for our backs.

Too much noise.............

Posted Sep 16, 2013
Pros: We liked the location and the closeness to downtown Petoskey and and the lakeside.
Cons: As to the quality of the walls I don't know - it's just cheap building material. The beds could be easily exchanged and they definitely should do so.
Location: Petoskey is a small town seaside resort,
This hotel has obviously 'paperwalls', meaning that we could hear our neighbors talk and understand each word although they were talking at a normal volume. Our bed was unbelievably loud, too. Each turn produced a squeaking and moaning noise that even woke us in the middle of the night. It might have been the original bed from the first opening of the Perry Hotel in 1961...................? It's not a cheap hotel and we paid quite a bit for the two nights we stayed there but it was definitely not worth the money. I also would have appreciated to know that they were hosting big weddings on each of the two days that we were there.

Nice Hotel, reasonably priced

Posted Aug 31, 2013
Location: You can't get closer to the downtown shopping/restaurant district.
Had to book a room on short notice, rate was very reasonable for the area. Historical Hotel in very good condition, rooms were large and well furnished. The Hotelier is very well known and respected in the area.

Great location

Posted Aug 29, 2013
Pros: The rose garden was a beautiful place to sit, rest, enjoy a drink and watch the beautiful sunsets. The front sitting porch was lovely.
Cons: The place needs to be sound proofed.
Location: Located just off Lake Michigan. Lots of cute shops and great restaurants. Close to parks and bike trails.
The hotel staff was friendly upon arrival. The room while older was clean and decent. However due to the age of the hotel the walls are paper thin. We could hear our neighbors cell phone conversations at all hours of the night and early morning hours. In fact the walls in our room were so thin, we could hear our neighbors snores. This made for 2 uncomfortable nights of sleeping.

Very Comfortable

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: I would highly recommend this hotel for adults travelers. Not a lot to do for younger children.
This the place to stay in Petosky if you want to be away from the tourist traffic but near the shops and resturants in town. One block from the downtown shopping district and 3 blocks from the Bay. Rooms are slightly worn but very comfortable. Our room had a private balcony with a view of the Bay.
