Excellent value

Posted Oct 3, 2013
Pros: see above
Cons: lighting too low
I stayed at the Lodge in Charlevoix for two nights off-season. The price was very reasonable and the staff outstanding -- very helpful, friendly, and always willing to offer directions if asked. WiFi was available in the room. The room was clean, well kept, with extra towels on hand in the bathroom. The location was perfect - just a few steps from downtown, the harbor, shops and restaurants. The only negative was the room lighting which was very dim -- no overhead light and the lamps had very low wattage bulbs. I'd definitely return to the Lodge.

Clean and walking distance to town

Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: Kind staff, reasonable cost, very clean, within walking distance of everything.
Cons: It is a good hotel for people on a budget. As such, I found everything to meet my needs.
Location: It is close to everything you would want to do in Charlevoix.
The Lodge, while an older hotel, is clean and comfortable. The staff aims to please. Proximity to the river, beach, and town makes this a very convenient place to stay.

Flashback to the 60's

Posted Sep 20, 2012
Location: Great location
This hotel probably hasn't seen a 'facelift' in over 30 years, maybe longer! Lots of kitchy early 60's decor. However, it is in the heart of downtown and a whole lot cheaper than any of the places next door or across the street. The bed was comfortable. If you are a hotel snob, this is not the place for you.

An all around good deal

Posted Jun 17, 2012
Pros: space, furnishings, cleanliness (very clean!), proximity to town
Cons: Only one thing. We were on the ground floor and when someone stayed in the room above their floor creaked. What do I expect from an old building
Location: It was a good location right on Bridge Street in Charlevoix.
The Lodge gave us a very nice stay in Charlevoix. The room was large and had everything we needed and then some with a kitchenette and a balcony. And we couldn't beat the price of the room. We would stay there again should we ever vacation in Charlevoix. We were also within walking distance of the town and only drove when we wanted to go to a neighboring area.
