You get what you pay for. This is a budget hotel so I guess it was fine for the price. We did not feel a 100% comfortable. The hotel is small, rooms are a bit gloomy and the fittings are a bit run down. The location is very close to the town centre which was a bit dirty. The staff service ranged from average to good.

Clean, simple, cheap with just minor flaws

Positive: Great location, many food and banking options around, in the middle of the town and just a 15 minute walk from Petra. Clean hotel, very friendly staff and okay breakfast. Negative: While friendly, the staff was unable to fix a few things. My TV did not work, the deadbolt did not line up with the hole in the wall so I could not properly lock the door without using excessive force. These were not resolved despite multiple requests. Also a warning for tall-ish people... (I am 6'4") the bathroom is raised one step but the door is not, and the opening is small to begin with. While exiting the bathroom I bashed my face into the door jamb several times, it basically went up to my cheek. All in all, I certainly would stay here again.

Nice hotel in Wadi Musa-walking distance to Petra

Posted Oct 24, 2013
For the price you cannot beat the newly renovated Al Rashid. It had all of the basics: working locks and safe ambiance, decent bed, hot water, working air conditioning unit, solid WiFi and a flat screen wall mounted TV with some English language news and business channels. Staff was very helpful and exchanged USD at bank rates. Officially, the Jordanian Tourism industry ranks this hotel as a one star but with the renovations it is at least a two star, and a comfortable one at that. Not a business class hotel or for a family with young children, but for budget conscious adults or students, this hotel is ideal.

Exceeded my Expectations

The hotel is conveniently located in the center of town, walking distance from Petra, very clean, quiet, with what appears to be newly renovated bathrooms. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was simply wonderful, varied and filling. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again when visiting Petra.

Very comfortable

This hotel has high rating from tripadviser. I agree that the rooms are very clean, Internet speed fast, breakfast OK. They try very hard to arrange tours for me. Only problem is the driver who sent me to the bus station. The staff told me 1.5 JD. Maybe I got it wrong. The regular rate is 3JD. The driver asked for 7 JD. I gave him 3 only, he said OK though.
