Great location for visiting Petra

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: The elevator had problems while we were there. Many times the doors would not close until the 3rd or 5th try. It was totally broken one evening.
Location: Excellent location. Great for those who want to hike around Petra and then be able to quickly wind down upon exiting the park.
The hotel welcomed us even when we arrived 2 hours early. The room was a little dated, but very comfortable. The restaurants were good. Breakfast had something for everyone in our family from adults to the 7 year old to the 1 year old. The barbeque at the rooftop restaurant was great, as was the view of the setting sun. We had not expected that when the hotel staff said that it was a 3 minute walk to the entrance to Petra that it would actually be 3 minutes. You can actually see the entrance from the entrance to the hotel. This was extremely convenient after spending 7 hours hiking around Petra in the sun when we were ready to wash off the dust and the sweat. The pool was nice, but a little small once more people arrived. There is only one depth in the pool (about 4.5 feet) and it was too deep for the 7 year old to be able to touch the bottom. Still it was a nice cool refreshing dip after site seeing all day. There are several groceries within walking distance from the hotel in case you need to buy milk or other necessities. The staff was very helpful and willing to entertain all of our questions about the sites, opening times, etc.

Across from the entry gates to Petra

Posted Aug 9, 2014
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. Perfect for quick & easy access to Petra. I visited twice in one day and was nice to know its right across the road from the hotel. The staff were friendly, as were most people we encountered in Jordan. Would love to get back to Petra and would stay here again.

The hotel is superbly located

Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Everything, especially the staff (Rania in particular). The decor was outstandingly attractive.
Cons: The dining room was very hot. The water in the swimming pool was cloudy The bathroom would benefit from having some sort of ventilation system
Location: First class location right across the road from the entrance to Petra Visitors Centre Explore Petra and journey to Wadi Rum
Everything about our experience was positive. The staff went out of their way to extend a very warm welcome. Rarely have I stayed in a hotel where hospitality is so omnipresent.

If you can get it for a good rate, do not hesitate: stay in this hotel. Real 5 star by the gates of Petra. That's it.

Hotel stay in Petra

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Close proximity to Petra entrance.
Cons: Customer service. Customer service and customer service!
Location: The only thing to do is visit the anchient sites. There is nothing else there.
While the hotel has the potential to be great, it is very close to the entrance to the Petra site, the staff drags it down. Service is horrible. The staff seem to think they are the guests and act as if you have committed a mortal sin if you ask them to do something. At dinner, which is very expensive, we had to hunt down a waiter to take care of our order , breakfast was the same and we were never able to get served at lunch; after 2 hours we just left. Forget about room service, it did not happen, for that matter any kind of customer service. I was having dinner with a coworker and the staff charged his room for both meals even tho we had asked the meals to be charged seperately. It took over an hour to get this corrected. The staff argued with us to keep it one bill. Over and over again we explained that we each had to have a receipt for business purposes. Exasperating to say the least. Positives for the hotel are limited. It was clean, appealing to the eye, and close to the anchient Petra sites, but that is were the positive aspects stop. I do not recommend this hotel at all; if you are looking for a customer oriented hotel do not stay here. If you are just looking for a place to rest before making the long trek to Petra sites then it is ok.

Excellent hotel right next to Park entrance

Posted May 31, 2014
All was good except could not get the a/c to cool the room. Stayed two nights and second night was a bit warm in the room. Other than that a great experience. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet, nice pool to relax by after a full day visiting Petra. If within your budget you can't do better visiting Petra.
