Good base for Petra.Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: Small and friendly.
Cons: Wi-fi in rooms rather than just the foyer.
Location: On a hill above Petra and the town. Petra was the only place we visited but surrounding countryside very interesting.
Very helpful staff, efficienbt service and made to feel welcome.

Close to Petra Gate + VERY HELPFUL STAFFPosted Apr 24, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff is amazing, they arranged transportation (for free) to the local restaurant, they were very helpful with shuttle to the Israeli border, provided lots of advices on local attractions! Hotel location is pretty good, 6-8 minutes to Petra gates, but pretty steep path. I would highly recommend this hotel for 1 night before you go to Petra.

Petra Diamond HotelPosted Apr 12, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel tried hard to please, but its position is not good - it is too far to the Petra site to walk by road, and the footpath down is difficult to negotiate - near impossible on the way back up. There is also not a regular meal service in the evenings and the immediate neighbourhood is devoid of businesses. The hotel would do well to provide a free shuttle service to Petra Gate.

Petra DiamondPosted Jan 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel is quite inexpensive which is hard to find in Petra. We found it was clean and was fine for a low budget couple of nights. During our stay we did see a number of services lapses (e.g. they did not clean our rooms despite the fact we were gone from 9 am to 6 pm) and there were some issues with the maintenance (shower leaked all over the floor, toilet did not flush properly). However they reacted quickly and made up for the problem and were apologetic, a good reaction that I do not always find. The breakfast was basic but fine (boiled egg, sausage, breads and a variety of veggies and cheese). The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, the beds fine and the heating worked (very important in Jordan in the winter!) The hotel is a bit off the beaten track and can be hard to find. We called after driving around a bit and they came to meet us and take us back to the hotel. Very helpful in providing information about Petra and tours.

Petra Diamond Hotel- Close to Petra visitor centrePosted Oct 2, 2011 on Hotels.com
The Petra diamond hotel is a basic hotel that charges a cheap price. it is located 10 mins walk from the visitors centre of Petra. The staff are extremely helpful and make sure all your needs are looked after. The staff are willing to help and offer advice on any aspect of your travels The rooms are basic but have everything that you need. They are clean and tidy. The breakfast included is large filling and nice and hotel staff are not strict on the times.
